Pawtucket's dad lived a good life, and had lots of loved ones surrounding him in his final moments.
So it is definitely a time of sadness, and yet it's a time to revel in the wonders of life.
There are worse ways to go than to die surrounded by those you love, and those who love you.

And so do I offer condolences to you, Pawtucket. Being robbed of fellowship with a loved one is excruciating pain, no matter how peaceful the parting is. The great consolation is that it's only temporary. Someday all tears will be wiped away.
Sorry to hear the news Pawtucket. I just got back from a Carribbean cruise with my family, father, mother and sister. My heart goes out to you and your family this day and everyday. Thanks for all that you do.
You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how it feels to lose a parent as I have lost both of mine...gut wrenching at first but the peace knowing that they are in God's hands settles in over time. I trust that you are finding that peace.
I'm sure your dad was a proud Irishman. I just came from raising a pint of Guinness in his honor.
Paw, my heart goes out to you during this time of loss, I also lost me mom and dad at a very early age dad was 47 ans mom was 52~~~~~~~~~~~~~~much to young to go. I will pray fervently for you.
