Favorite Christmas Music

This is what makes Thanksgiving the one great holiday of the year - and lightyears above Christmas - no gifts, no endless merchandising, no extensive decorations, and, NO music.

After fifty or so of these "most wonderful times of the year", it's gets a little old, no?

I swear if I hear "Little Drummer Boy" ONE MORE TIME, somebody's going down...

I agree with you about Thanksgiving, even though I don't mind the Christmas music so much. But even that, has to be in smaller doses.

I have that one on mp3. When I first heard it in 1972, it inspired me to make up a really twisted version of my own story of Santa Claus, so much that they thought it was one of the symptoms of a psychosis. :D-->

This is the only version I can find of a John McCutcheon song called Christmas in the Trenches

Its a song based on the true story of the WWI Christmas truce that broke out spontaneously when the opposing armies sang carols back and forth from their trenches on Christmas eve 1914

We got to sing the Messiah in high school... I loved it. Still, every time I hear the Hallelujah Chorus it stirs me.

But I really love O Holy Night, my dad used to sing it in our

church choir every Christmas eve. He had a beautiful voice.
