I love Sound of Music! When it first came out, my sister and I knew all the words to all the songs and would sing them constantly. When I took Composition I last year, I named my first paper, Sound of Music Therapy.
ChattyKathy, Thanks for that bit of info on the "Edelweiss", very interesting. Where abouts are you from? It has just started snowing here but I heard were in for a big snowstorm tonight. Maybe we'll have a "snowday" tomorrow when they shut the schools down cause there's too much snow on the roads !!!! HOPE SO!

I bet Ted has asked to see it right?! ;)

Cowgirl,
I was able to listen to your link and what a lovely song that is. Very tender!
I live in a burb of Columbus Ohio. And it did accumulate so things are white but not solid white and I'm certain you know exactly what that is. :)
I do love snow but I must admit when I was cleaning off my car tonight to come home I did consider the costs of that white stuff. And I still love it. ;)
Moony, I was reading the thread about "Thanksgiving" in the open forum and you mentioned that you were going to start the morning off with a 5k..................are you a runner?
A few years ago, I was going to do the Turkey Trot & I ended up in the hospital. Ever since, I vowed that I was going to do it. It was pouring last year, so I'm doing it tomorrow. It's just something that I promised myself to do.
I did do the Turkey Trot this morning. It was a lot of fun. They had bands about every 1/2 mile playing bluegrass, salsa, reggae, marching band music, and bagpipes.
I'm here in Allentown for Thanksgiving. I've put the turkey on and have sneaked upstairs to get my computer fix. More later.. but I had to say this.. bravo to Hiway29 who picked up on the lone clue I gave for the movie production company theme.
Kids are home, I got my turkey in the oven, fresh cup of Cafe du Monde cafe au lait, and "Weather Report" on the new CD player (full tilt - gotta wake the kids up).
I don't know which I was more excited about.....seeing Sudo while away or seeing Geo ;) but both were most pleasant indeed.
Sounds like enjoyable times for all. Although Moon Girl does have an advantage on weather I suspect....I mean bluegrass, salsa and reggae alone would make me feel warmer. :) And it's to be in the 20's by this afternoon so we do have to imagine ya know. B)
That was a good show, and I remember the night they showed the last episode, resolving the whole thing. That was rare in those days, mainly because they never knew if a show was going to be picked up for another season, until they had finished filming the previous season. In this case, they made a decision to end the still popular show, and thankfully brought it to a conclusion.
In retrospect, I think the move to color from Black and white diminished the last season. It went from distinctively moody, 'film noir', to looking like any other drama series, but that's just my 2 cents.
I've always liked the Mad magazine parody, where it turns out he really DID it. THAT would have been some last episode.
The film version with Harrison Ford was pretty darn good, too.

Cowgirl,
I was about to reply that schools SHOULD be closed tomorrow, since it's THANKSGIVING! Then I remembered that you're in Canada. Never mind.

No. If I was, I might attempt the 10K.

Cowgirl,
Oh yes please do. The song that Rick provided was for Sudo but the links of new songs are for all to guess at. :)
And here's something toward the one that Rick just posted that relates to one of mine.
Her: I'm going out and have myself a wild time.
Him: Don't forget your library card.
So as not to confuse this I brought my first one here from the previous page (not the one Rick is talking about).

I knew it wasn't him that did it but once the show is named will you tell me who did? Great guess also, I wouldn't have recognized the theme myself.
