Sorry if I make some of you puke but I guess I got out before the crap hit the fan. Soooo.
* I learned how much Jesus suffered and why he chose to endure the cross.
* Dealing with injustice. That is a biggy. Giving his life for the same jerks who are killing him.
* Husbands love your wives...give your life to them as Christ did the church.
* Not to wrestle against flesh and blood.
* My relationship with my children compared to my relationship with God
* Broken cisterns hold no water.
* For by grace we are saved through faith, not of works.
* I don't care much for Saducees and Pharisees
* Religion turns me off
* None righteous no not one
* Friendships with people like Mike & Jane Moody, dmiller, etc.
* I still have all the old syllabus etc, it is part of who I am and where I've been. I don't hate it, ain't scared of it, I now know some of it was inaccurate so I have learned something.
I remember some old friends that scratched up a bunch of their old records for similar reasons. I thought that was kinda odd.
Anybody else here wake up one morning with the perception everything we were taught was plane WRONG?
:)
YES! A half truth is a LIE. That is what decieved us,we could not discern the devil spirit standing in front of our face teaching us false doctrines HE MADE UP and then twisted them and SOLD IT(blood money) and then we did the same ,how messed up is
There is the power of life and death in the tongue.
Perfect love casts out fear.
It's God in Christ in you the hope of glory.
Praying in the Spirit.
The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.
And that there's a lot of extraordinary people who inspired me beyond words by their willingness to sell out to God in search of the truth.
It p*sses me off to see that some have had that stolen from them. I guess that just means the thief is still in business.
Been out of TWI for over 25 years and I have yet to see the kind of commitment and believing that I witnessed during my PFAL days.
This in not an endorsment of TWI, PFAL or VPW. There was nothing phony about the love I witnessed from the many believers whom I have had the privilege meet.
That much of it I know was good, it was right, and it was from God.
I kept it all the tapes ,the flipcharts, the white styrofoam cups with lipstick and chew marks, , the folding chair, the perfectly square cheese cubes (although they are looking a little fossilized)
After 12 years from leaving TWI, I kept nothing from PFAL. Why should I keep a plagiarized material? Why do I need to keep a memento or reminder of an organization that practices spiritual abuses and claims to do it in the name of God?

That is cool,
And I am sure that the material may represent different things to different people.
I am looking forward to learning what lessons you have learned since then.
And is any of it a result of comparing to where you have been to where you want to go?
I don't have much of the physical stuff any more. I let the ex-Mrs. oakspear keep all the books that we owned in common, the PFAL books, RHST, the collaterals, lexicons, concordances etc. I have my own note-laden King James and my Companion bible, as well as some notes from a Corps friend from her Greek class. I threw out my WayAP syllabus, WOW pin and old nametags. I lost my holy spirit dove ring at my first Weenie Roast.
What I've kept from the teaching/doctrinal side are a few things:
Read what is written
Look at the context
Know what the words meant when they were written
Not much biblical stuff, just some common sense keys to understanding things.
Not only do I no longer believe the bible, but don't believe that PFAL was accurate within the context of believing the bible.
I actually liked that ring (it was a "Corps sponsorship" ring or somesuch). The leaf motif was pretty cool. At one time I was thinking of getting an oak leaf design silver ring by a jeweler here in town.

What have I kept from PFAL?...
...Perhaps I can explain in it a short poem:
Johnny Jump Up don't jump no more
Maggie Muffins became a whore
Henry Baloko blew it all
While the old poop Vic had a ball.

Here are a few beliefs that I've kept from PFAL:
That God loves me despite my sins (the palms of God)...
How to get born again (Romans 10:9, 10)...
Sonship rights (righteousness, sanctification, justification, redemption, ministry of reconciliation)...
That I am completely completely absolutely complete in Him...
The believers Power of Attorney
God wants me to hold fast that which is good...
God wants me free from fear worry doubt anxiety and all matter of oppression...
Jesus Christ is the Way Truth & Life, no man cometh unto the Father but by him...
There is One Baptism by Holy Spirit; water baptism is not required for salvation...
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Redeemer, but not God the Son...
The believer is As He Is...
Jesus Kept the Passover...
Whatever a Person Believes Is Directly Reflected In What He Confesses...
Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive...
Jesus taught believing...
God wants his children to believe all the benefits He has promised thru Christ...
Simon of Cyrene and the Cross Christ Bore...
Pauls Thorn in the Flesh...
Ekklesia: Bride or Body?
God is our Sufficiency...
Church the Great Mystery Revealed, Christ in You, the hope of glory...
The Bondage of the Sabbath Day....
Body, Soul, Spirit; formed made created...
The Unqualified Commitment...
What is true worship...
Filled to Overflowing....
Speaking in tongues...
Why Division...
The Final Victory...

I believe a lot of what oldies says.
I can relate to what Ham's saying.
I've seen a supposed apostle that really is a purveyor of lies up close and personal like OCW speaks of.
IT SEEMS LIKE THERE IS A LOT TO SORT OUT FOR ME STILL.

I am what the WORD of GOD says I am there fore I am.
The Word of GOD is the will of GOD
GOD may not allways be early, but he's never late
Make the Bible your own
GODS Love is perfect
I am not perfect
If you're going to look for an example use Jesus Christ, not another man
That even great men of the Bible had,and have weekness
To forgive and to Love the family of GOD
To edify instead of tearing down
That neg. teachings are no good
IF what you are teaching is so right on with GOD.You shouldn't have to tear down all the other churchs to make you look good.
That I have alot of brothers, and sisters,That I ove a lot
That signs miricales and wonders do exist
The time that I spent in TWI was not a waste
PFAL change my life
DR. was the man of GOD in his time, but not perfect
J C is not GOD
The people that looked to leader instead of Jesus Christ are the one that were let down
That I should be in to GOD because I love GOD ,not to be a leader
The word over the world is impossible, because of egos
If I never took PFAL I would have never met my wife
To question leaders,not GOD
That most of the people that split off from TWI didn;t learn much abot egos,or how to walk with GOD,and there in it to be leaders not men of GOD.
That GOD is personal
Applying the Word of GOD is hard some times
That an ego can bring down a Ministry
I have the tools in need to walk with GOD
That GOD watched his SON die so I could be his SON also
Men with out hearts will not see GOD

Ham was speaking figuratively, DMiller. If one gets on board with the wrong teachings one arrives at the wrong conclusions.
Plane for La-La Land now departing at the PFAL Gate.
