I enjoyed reading that, Hope. What a great Christmas greeting. Sometimes I sort of miss those understated Christmases spent in The Way. I don't have any Christmas horror stories from those days. In fact, I wish Christmas could be so simple again, where all it means is exchanging a few, thoughtful, simple gifts with those closest to you, and getting on with the day.
Anyway, GreaseSpot has been a gift, although I haven't figured out the paradox of spending time alone with words in front of a keyboard, connecting with others. I've made and lost friends here, and a few enemies, too. I've laughed a lot, cried a little, and have been touched by those with the courage to write even while faced with indifference, maybe instead of being driven off by the fear of rejection, being even more driven to stay by the fear of not being heard. Most of all, I've been touched by the forgiveness, which usually comes just at the time I think GreaseSpot will collapse under the weight of hostility and grudge. Maybe a good slogan for GS would be, " The GreaseSpot Cafe: Where we know who you are and love you anyway." A little too sappy, but, hey, it's Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all my cyber friends! Enjoy every moment with whomever you are with over the holidays. Everyone is special in their own way - - so soak in the love and give them a good dose too!

Hope R.
A Grease Spot Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas and through the Café
Warm greetings and love were spread to the Ex-Way.
The posters were quietly typing their views,
And chatters gave (((hugs))) while the lurkers perused.
The regulars sat at their keyboards and thought
of something to post that would not come to naught.
Perhaps getting others to ponder and pray
if they should stay in or get out of The Way.
While others discussed all the teachings they?ve had,
and wondered if any were good or all bad.
Some post quite light-heartedly stories and jokes -
It?s a wonderful conglomeration of folks!
There?s Wytedove and Oakspear, Kit Sober and Rocky,
Abigail, Rafael, Shellon and Wacky,
Littlehawk, Zixar, Excathie and Jim,
And FreshAir (I wonder what?s become of him?)
QQ may write things that need some explanation
and Rocky rebuts him with utter frustration!
Grizzy will growl when he disagrees
but AnaFontana can put him at ease.
RadarOReilly keeps threads from digressing,
while Kit writes each poster a sweet birthday blessing.
The Schwaigers words always get people to think,
While Tom Tuttle?s postings can drive them to drink!
And there?s dear Dot Matrix who posts everywhere
and Krysillis always has something to share.
Insurgent and Wayward are still in the Way
and we all hope that they will get out someday.
And dear old Pawtucket, our wonderful host
Our appreciation to you is the most!
For Grease Spot is not just a site we drop in
It?s a place for us all to connect once again.
And I hope that we are resolved in the new year
to guide those still in The Way to find us here.
So I pray you find happiness, love and delight,
Merry Christmas to all ? and to all a goodnight!

Standing by,
All the way.
Here to help you through your day.
Holding you up,
When you are weak,
Helping you find what it is you seek.
Catching your tears,
When you cry.
Pulling you through when the tide is high.
Absorbing your voice
When you talk.
Standing by when you learn to walk.
Just being there,
Through thick and thin,
All just to say, you are my friend.
