Debby. Not much time as a tropical storm before heading into Florida as a Cat 1 hurricane. Hope you guys are battening down the hatches. It's supposed to slow down, meaning it will dump a lot of water on Florida and especially Georgia.
Yeah. This time of year, once cold fronts actually pass through Texas, they usually act as a shield against storms. Good news for the Texas coast, but bad news for the rest of the Gulf Coast, as those storms get pushed eastward. This one could be Cat 3 by landfall.
I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of so many lives and for the massive destruction Hurricane Helene caused. If climate change is proven to be responsible in any way, I hope more will continue to be done worldwide to deal with it.
The National Hurricane Center predicted that this year would be more active than usual. That does not appear to be the case (though activity tends to ramp up in September/early October).
