This one should update. I right click the image from the National Hurricane Center and click "Copy image." Pasting it (and then not choosing "Plain text" at the bottom of this window seems to give me an active link.
Seems to me there should be an exclamation point after the name...
Thanks to a lot of Saharan dust and the usual lull in storms at this point in the summer, there's not much activity. I'm just posting this to keep the thread from disappearing.
When I look at the National Hurricane Center site, I default to Atlantic storms, as most Pacific storms affect Hawaii, if the US at all. By the time I got back from a holiday, Hilary was already inland and has pretty much dissipated, now. The reports I saw talked about heavy rainfall, but the accumulations all seemed to be two inches or less. My prayers for any who DID suffer loss.

It may be a bit early, but Bret seems to be headed toward Central America, leaving the US alone.
There is that disturbance behind Bret, though...

Here's the cone of the storm after Bret. This is a screen grab that won't update.

Don's messing around in the north Atlantic. It's kind of spinning around but not likely to make landfall.

The only cones I'm interested in are ice cream cones. Unfortunately for my bathroom scales...!

It's been a while since the Greasespot BBQ, but I seem to remember that you had a rather comely figure. I'd hate to think ice cream ruined it!

"Comely figure" - wow! Thank you! When was that? 2007, ooohhh!
I've probably put on about 10lb since then. So not too bad, but rather wouldn't have it.

Saharan dust continues to put a damper on Atlantic storms.
I'm OK with that.

There's also a wave entering the Gulf. It's not expected to form a storm, but it should bring some much-needed rain to Texas.

Gert seems to be a flash in the pan.
Emily is almost gone, as well.

Idalia looks to be a problem for Florida and some of the east coast:

If I'm reading that right, Idalia might be Cat 3 before landfall.

You are reading it right.
I'm outside the cone as it is. We don't believe we will be having much effect at all.
Which is good, because I have plans Thursday. Big plans. Big. HUGE.

I hope you'll be prepared in the unfortunate even Idalia takes a sharp right turn.
Much love to friends in the Orlando and Tampa/St Pete metro areas too.
