Right. If it were Latin, it would be Domine, miserere; Christe, miserere; Domine, miserere.
It's likely that the earliest church "services" were in Greek-speaking locales, and this chant was kept as is when Christianity spread over the Roman Empire.
Well, that kills my second guess. I was thinking something like "Raising Arizona," with a death-row prisoner and a jailer. I imagine the real answer isn't as interesting.
I got to thinking about who'd be well-known in the US, the UK AND here. That ran the list down VERY quickly. Peppa Pig is famous in the UK, and well-known here, but AFAIK, largely unknown in the US. And each of the 3 countries has something known locally but not recognized anywhere else (like Plim Plim or El Sapo Pepe.) And so on. Of the smaller number famous everywhere I know, there's fewer couples (Shaggy and Scooby do NOT count.)
A) First pope in centuries to resign (causing a new election without his death)?
B) First pope to use two names
C)
D) Olympic swimmer?

A) No, that was Benedict/ Ratzinger, Francis' predecessor. Considering he had a reputation for following tradition, it's peculiar he didn't follow the tradition for a Pope stepping down and return to "Bishop of", making for only one Pope. Instead, he called himself "Pope Emeritus," which was a completely different first. So, we have one living Pope and one living Pope Emeritus."

No. This is not in English. It's just not in Latin, either. (And it is spoken.)

Kyrie Elaison is not English or Latin.
It's Greek.
Meanwhile you should look up the lyrics to Kyrie.

Shoot, Catholic grade school and several years of Roman Catholicism down the drain. At least I didn't join a cult!

Wayne Allwine and Russi Taylor were married for 18 years before Wayne's death in 2009. They met at work.
What did they do?

They were entertainers.
You've likely never seen their faces but almost certainly have heard their voices, especially if you've had kids or grandkids.

They played a couple, and each holds the distinction of being the longest serving actor in their role.

OK, I've got a few questions about (former) Pope John Paul I (formerly Albino Luciani.)
A) He caused something to happen that had NOT happened since 1605.
B) He was the first pope to do what?
C) He was the first pope to also do what?
(B & C are 2 different answers.)
D) In one category, he came in 4th (honorable mention.) In what was he 4th?

Where are we on answers so far?
B) First pope to use two names
So, we have B but not the rest.
BTW, if you have B you can probably guess C as they are related.
He was actually pretty famous for D (there are still conspiracy theories about this)
(A) was a direct consequence of D.

A. By dying just a month after he took office, he caused a historical anomaly: 3 popes in one year.
B. Two names
C. If I recall correctly, the "I" was added by him, not retroactively.
D. Fourth shortest tenure?
