That's the one.

Clint Eastwood is the oldest actor to receive top billing in a movie, at the age of 91 in 2021. He starred in Cry Macho.

One site gives Maggie Smith as the oldest actress to receive top billing (81 YO in The Lady in the Van)., but I've also found June Squibb, who at 94 YO starred in Thelma.  The citation doesn't use the term "top billing," "top billed," etc., so maybe she doesn't count.

I'm not feeling clever.  So, something simple.

US History.

A) What was the last battle of the "American Revolution", "the War for Independence"?/Where was it fought?

B) Who commanded the British forces in that battle?

C) Who commanded the US forces in that battle?

D)  Why were the British forces unable to escape and avoid the battle entirely?

Please answer 3 or better. (Of ABCD, any 3 of those, or all 4 of those.)

This could be a trick question, as battles often occur after a war is "over."  But, let's try the obvious:

A) Yorktown

B) Cornwallis

C) Washington

D) the French fleet blocked their escape.

Incidentally, when I visited DC this past October, I picked up a copy of Cornwallis's Articles of Surrender,

All correct!

It was the battle of Yorktown. Cornwallis surrendered to Washington. He had counted on being able to escape by sea if the land war went against him.  Then the French fleet blockaded Yorktown, and Cornwallis was backed into a corner. Schoolhouse Rock fans could probably all dust this question.  :)

Go, George!

In the early years (1938 to, say, 1978) of Superman, a disproportionate number of characters had the initials "L.L."  Lex Luthor, for instance.  Off the top of my head, I can think of five women that Superman was romantically involved with who had those initials.  Other than Lois Lane and Lana Lang, can you remember any of the others?

Do I have to limit myself only to those years?  You eliminated the 2 most prominent ones, and 2 that I know came afterwards.  Offhand, I can only remember 1 other for that time-frame.

Any one 1938 to present is fine.  LLs just haven't been as much of a thing, recently.

The longest-lasting one you didn't name, I think, was LORI LEMARIS, the mermaid. (She was mentioned, in passing, in "the Lost Boys", in the comic book shop where the Frog brothers worked or hung out, FYI.)

There was also some cavewoman chick with her lost tribe or something, who almost married Superman, Lola=La.

Finally, when we first met the Linear Men (and before Waverider joined them), we met 3 people. One of them was a woman, Liri Lee.  Yes, Superman was meeting them for the first time.

Neither Lola-La nor Liri Lee were ones that came to my mind, but I'm sure they're correct answers.  Lori Lemaris met Clark Kent in college.  She disguised her tail by pretending to be wheelchair-bound, with her "legs" covered.

The other two that I thought of were Lyla Lerrol, a Kryptonian actress who met Superman when he traveled in time to pre-destruction Krypton, and Luma Lynai, whom Supergirl tried to set up with her cousin.  She couldn't live under Earth's sun.

You're up!

Mind if I jump in?

There are a number of popular songs that I like to joke are known by the wrong name. These are songs where a lot of people genuinely believe this is the name (or they would be justified in believing so) but the name is actually something different.

To win this round, correctly identify the REAL name of five songs, along with the artist (in cases of covers, either artist will do as long as it charted).

1. "Never Gonna Dance Again"
2. "If You Like Pina Coladas"
3. "I Get Knocked Down (But I Get Up Again)"
4. "I Feel Good."
5. "Rolling on the River"
6. "Hey, What's Going On?"
7. "I Would Walk 500 Miles"
8. "Turn the Radio Up!"
9. "Someone Left a Cake Out in the Rain."
10.... and of course... "Teenage Wasteland" (a freebie as it was a recent answer on another thread).

I was going to apologize for not being able to clear the table, but you didn't ask for that.

OK, here's what I know, titles and artists....

1)  George Michael's "Careless Whisper."

2)  Forgot the artist.

3) Chumbawumba's "Tub-thumping."

4) Forgot the title (we all know the artist.)

5) Tina Turner's "Proud Mary."

6) 4 Non-Blondes with "What's Up?" (To avoid confusion with Marvin Gaye's song.)

7) The Proclaimers, with "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)"

8) Eric Carmen's "Make Me Lose Control".

9) No idea.

10) The Who's "Baba O'Riley".

But I can't answer 2, 4, or 9, so if someone could finish clearing the table, for bragging rights?

#9 is actor/singer Richard Harris's "MacArthur's Park"  (Someone left the cake out in the rain).

#2 is Escape but not sure who the artist was.

#4 I'm not sure.

1. "Never Gonna Dance Again"= Careless Whisper by Wham!
2. "If You Like Pina Coladas" = Escape (The Pina Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes.
3. "I Get Knocked Down (But I Get Up Again)" = Tubthumping by Chumbawumba
4. "I Feel Good." = I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown
5. "Rolling on the River" = Proud Mary by Tina Turner, Creedence Clearwater Revival, et al?
6. "Hey, What's Going On?" = What's Up? by Four Non Blondes
7. "I Would Walk 500 Miles" = I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers
8. "Turn the Radio Up!" = Make Me Lose Control by Eric Carmen (may he rest)
9. "Someone Left a Cake Out in the Rain." = MacArthur Park by Richard Harris (Dumbledore!), Donna Summer, et al?
10. "Teenage Wasteland" = Baba O'Riley by The Who.

WordWolf got 6 out of 10 (would have been seven if not for the perfectly understandable George Michael/Wham! mixup.
