Okay, then, Texas?  We do have some strangely named towns.

That's it.  Population 22  It's an unincorporated community in central Texas that got it's name in 1930 when an artist put up a sign for two brothers who owned a country store and painted two bells on the sign for their last name which was Bell.   He then wrote Ding & Dong underneath.  The community around the store began referring to the area by the name on the sign and finally it became official.

Years ago, my mother-in-law was riding in a car and saw a sign reading "Litter Barrel, 2 mi."  She thought it was the name of a town.  It was actually just a place to dump your trash, but in Texas that wouldn't be an unbelievable name.  :biglaugh:

With Election Day behind us, here's an election trivia question:

Which 20th-Century President received the highest percentage of the POPULAR vote?  (I'm limiting it to 20th-Century because some of the 18th- and 19th-Century elections were real blowouts, George Washing ran unopposed -- twice -- Jefferson, 1804, and James Monroe, 1816 and 1820, were over 70%.)  Hint:  there were only four elections in the 1900s where the winner received more than 60% of the popular vote.

Teddy: 56.4%

I'm actually a little surprised that this hasn't been guessed yet.

George

Were certainly narrowing it down though.  1901-2001, 17 presidents and we've named six of them, and you've given 7 more in your clues George.  Leaves 4 more presidents by my count.

Has anyone tried John F Kennedy?
