What song most symbolises, or encapsulates, Christmas, for you?  A piece of classical music? A pop song (please, no Bing!)?  A carol or hymn?  Something choral, or maybe something orchestral?

Me, I'm thinking Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.  Lighthearted fun.

All these songs are great! WW: It's Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses, lol. Great song. I love these songs, some of them I've never seen before, like the Alison Krause song. And the nutty cracker cartoon, lol. Keep these coming, I need some good Christmas music to listen to, instead of the tired old radio songs.  Okay, I do like the Elvis/Martina McBride song, though I know it's probably been seen a million times, it's still pretty  cool.

Sang "O Night Divine" as part of the Christmas choir I sing with in a broadcast to the local hospital radio service (and via internet, worldwide).  Nice rendition on the video, though (IMO) it might have benefited from not having the shepherds and wise men wandering about.  Thanks for posting.

My problem with just about every rendition of "O Holy Night" that I have heard is... no one wants to sing the song's actual lyrics. This one comes close, but for some reason, they keep fiddling with the last part of the chorus. If you want to see what I'm talking about, start the video and read along. These lyrics are beautiful and (used to) bring tears to my eyes. I still love the song, musically and lyrically speaking. But why go to all the trouble of singing all three stanzas if you're gonna mess with them like that?

V1

O Holy Night!
The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour’s birth;
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
'Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn;
Fall on your knees,
Oh, hear the angels voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night,
O night divine!

V2
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand;
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here came the wise men from Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our Friend;
He knows our need,
To our weakness is no stranger.
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!

V3
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace;
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother,
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name;
Christ is the Lord,
Oh, praise His name forever!
His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!
His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!

Twinky, I love real Christmas trees, with real lights.

Grace, a real Christmas tree with real lights isn't ... exactly... a song ...that encapsulates Christmas.

Anyway, the party hos put together a tape where all of us had chosen about three pieces of music (so choices from someone nearly 90, to someone who was only 4) - it was fun and it was interesting trying to guess who had chosen what.
