Quite honestly, The older-than-Moses legend of Eve being made from Adam's rib is very likely an old sex joke using what was a funny use of verb exchange, turned scripture, IMO. It's also very dubious that he's made to "sleep" and something gets done with his "rib". The rest of the Garden of Eden epoch seems to be allegorical in some sense of archaic societal pressures on a young (perhaps first) rocky romance.
