The rabidly insane hatred for and constant hatespeech toward the LGTBQ community from the bowels of the "biblical research" moggies and moggettes of TWIt goes back to dictor Paul's days in Lindbergh's America First pro-fascism movement of the late 30's and early 40s here in the USA. Once dictor's inbred Naziism found its political validation in the John Birch Society, his hatreds were now "politically correct" as well as "approved of gawd".
The Advanced Class was the breeding swamp for dictor's most personal peccadilloes of hate and sexual perversion. That's where he repeatedly browbeat his students into accepting his utter disdain for psychiatry, psychology and LICSW professional, medical couselling and science. He went on to nastily relegate the entire field and all its practitioners and patients to having been "born in a seance". All patients and practitioners were proclaimed to be possessed and only dictor had the rightly-divided answers and the "power" they contained. Cancer? Debbil spurts. Homos? Debbil spurts. Freud? Seed boy. Psychiatry? Born in a seance. Depression? Debbil spurts. Murder? Debbil spurts. The Pope and all the "top leaders" of ALL religions on Earth especially Christianity? ALL seed boys and girls. US Democrats, Liberals, Commie-pinko-socialists, hippies, civil and women's rights advocates.....all possessed or influenced by debbil spurts. Dictor spent the vast majority of his AC teaching minus-tray glorifying and describing and defining da Debbil, Satan, da Adversary, Beelzebub, Baal and all the various types of Debbil spurts of "possession and oppression" than he ever spent on the earthly life of Jesus Christ. heard of. The great attitude Vic built his personal mission on was NOT the love of Christ, but rather the fear of Satan. Christ was unavailable for fellowship or even being prayed to. He was ABSENT and dictor convinced his followers that he and his moggies took His, Christ's place! How anti-Christ can ya get?? JC's work and life were not enough. He's gone. I'm here in his place so I can do the job correctly until gawd sez it's done and then JC will come do the mop-up and hand out the piñatas. That's rightly divided??....LMFAO!
Then, dictor is replaced by da forehead. Things go from depraved pathology to the truly bizarre! The okie doofus gave the god of this world far more than his just desserts. He made him the center of TWIt policy, activity, purpose and personal calling. Spirits in The Athlete epitomized da forehead's toddler-like understanding of the Bible. It was the child of the childmind of the fallen prince.....a deranged DVD of the bible fantasies of the dancing pwesident of TWIt......a view into the truly disturbed fantasy world in which da forehead reigned supreme......until reality came crashing down on craigie's camelot.
How ironic it was that King okie, who cancelled the ROA and the WOW program because of "homo infiltration", was married to the lesbian lover of his future successor Rosie of Crotchaven during the entire time of the various homo purges conducted by ignatius Loy-ola De Martindale.. A faithful 4th corpse slut who allowed her faddah in da woid to arrange her marriage to the next pwesident of TWIt. Now that worked out just great didn't it Donna? After all those times you went down on vic's notably undersized manhood? That's all ya got??! Not as far as you and Rosie were concerned! But, you two had the dumbest jock on Earth getting all the "revelation" so you and Rosie were quite safe!.....LOL! You had King Doofus the Okie to cover all your tracks with his Sasquatch-sized footprints. Methinks he did protest too much, eh Billy Shakes?
The visceral hatred of all things LGBTQ is an integral part of the TWIt DNA. It will be found in every offshoot as well with equal and sometimes harsher rhetoric and fervor. TLTF, STFI, "Rev" gerry wrenn's TWIt redux, et al. They all promote anti-Christ hatespeech and "doctrines of Devils". They are all neo-Nazi John Birch Society devotees as was their faddah-in-da-woid. Anti(against)-Christ, Anti-Semitic, blatantly racist, anti-LGBT haters just like the Westboro Baptist Church and the Phelps' of Topeka. It's in their DNA. They cannot help it. Hate lives deeply in their blood and they just must reproduce what their DNA demands.
LGBTQ humans are just that......HUMAN BEINGS! They are not diseased dogs who must be euthanized like Hitler wanted. Christ died FOR ALL THAT WHOSOEVER WILL MAY COME UNTO HIM AND BE SAVED. No authentic Christian will hate anyone for whom Christ died. There are no exceptions to "whosoever"! There are no qualifiers. The Boss don't check between your legs to save ya. Why should some numbnuts RWCNJ.....right wing Christian nutjob.....decide that's her/his job?? Love is the fulfilling of the Law Jesus said. Not sexual preference or gender identity, or skin color, or spiritual beliefs, or the 2nd Amendment, or ethnicity or cultural heritage. LOVE. Unconditional, unrelenting, unswerving, indefatigable, hopeful and truthful......LOVE. You RWCNJs love your pets more than your fellow humans. You treat your dogs with more respect and concern. The words of Mohandas K. Gandhi come to mind....."I love your Jesus. It's your Christians I find troublesome". Thank God Jesus was not a religious leader.............peace.

The other day I watched a movie on hulu that goes a long way in showing LGBTQ people as genuine people. It won the Palm d'Or at Cannes a couple of years ago, it was that well done. The English title is Blue is the Warmest Color.
It took me several years after TWI before I began to realize gays were genuine people with legitimate humanity and human qualities.
I like the article and the more I think about it the more TWI looks like a Westboro-Baptist-church-like hate group, with attributed quotes.
The year that the Craiggers cancelled the W.O.W. program during the Rock of Ages he sited spiritual contamination from closeted homosexuals. He also did a "teaching" from the main stage that year where he paraded out people (the choir if I remember right) holding signs with anti-gay slogans, and expounded on each of them. I think it pre-dates the Westboro Baptists, but very much of the same hostility.

No, it doesn't/didn't predate Westboro. The Phelps clan was picketing at Rock of Ages festivals in the 1970s.
After reading the above articles I'm still of the mind "where does this end ? Is there some sort of line that NEEDS to be drawn ? " ...here in Sydney, Australia a mother has decided to bring her two children up 'gender neutral'...in other words, letting them dress in whatever they want, play with whatever they want, make up for the boy etc....basically deciding as they grow, what 'sex' they want to be/become. I really wonder if this is laying the ground work for real problems later on.....
Also, the state government here adopted a school curriculum encompassing a programme called 'safe schools'. It was meant to be about promoting anti- bullying against lgbtt school kids. Turned out it was really about promoting pornography and 'lifestyle' choices to children as young as 7...needless to say there has been a major enquiry into this. Bottom line I guess is, everybody/organization has an 'agenda' of some sort.
Also ( I'm on a roll here thanks to my lovely 'corona' with a twist of lime lol )...I ran a foundational class about ten years ago with 2 off the chain, dyed in the wool, flamboyantly 'gay' guys in it. last session both of them spoke in tongues like the proverbial 'house on fire'....now, if you believe in s.i.t. as I do, that was confirmation to me that God does indeed desire to have ALL saved and come to a knowledge of the truth !!!!
One thought I had on the LGBTQ movement - that it probably is not a new thing under the sun. I know Rome had some practices and beliefs I've read about historically, besides Bible references. I bet all of that was commonly practiced in Rome - maybe not trans medical like today.
Of course there is a balance, and yes the movement will have to address issues like 3% of the population dictating an inordinate amount of policy proportionally, and as you mentioned people getting different ideas about children - raising gender neutral. I mean it doesn't hurt me how people raise their children, and to my thoughts she kind of misses the point of the movement anyway which tries to communicate kids gravitate towards a sexuality or choice by 6 or 7. Meaning they on their own do it, and it has little to do with the environment they are raised in.
But the Bible fundamentalists on this point are really just modern-day Pharisees. To think that God would put a genetic tendency towards something to do with sexual identity and attraction into a person that is by His standards condemning them to death means that their idea of God is a cruel, manipulative and abusive tyrant. No idiots, that would be you projecting your own traits onto God. Or your Pharisaic interpretation of scripture. I mean GTFO and go back to flogging yourself - leave me out of it.
My point is that the ripples of The Way's extremism are far reaching--through generations, not just those that got involved back in the 60's, 70's and 80's. How terrible to feel as though the community that shaped you would want you to be dead.

Two things:
1) In reading thru Joey Longley's article, he mentions his love for his hometown, community and school ---[he must be referring to New Knoxville ??]. Clearly, twi wouldn't be considered "his hometown" nor does it have a school. He seems to be conflating two experiences......small-town, rural Ohio and an insulated cult community not far away. And quickly, he launches into the main thrust of his article...."Despite the admirable qualities of my childhood faith tradition, outright and unapologetic hatred of LGBTQ people was a core doctrine." With each passing year, hopefully Joey will be able to distance himself from this painful past and also discern what "admirable qualities of his childhood faith tradition" are worth keeping.
2) Joey's parents wouldn't be Steve and Meg L0ngley? The Steve L0ngley that is one of the key-principled teachers of twi's new foundational class after craig's wap-class went down in flames? One of the three main "teachers" of twi's foundational class 3.0 [the class from which all allegiance flows]? A strict adherent to the wierwille cult and ideology; esteemed in the halls of the OSC; and a father who has vehemently confronted his son's gay lifestyle?

Joey's family must be pretty well off financially since he's attending the Harvard Law School. The comments to Joey's post are pretty interesting too.

Yes, the ripples continue. I knew Joey, the author of this article, when he was a baby. I knew his parents at HQ when we were there working on staff and when he was born. His father and mother made their decision to stay at the same time I decided to go. His father and I had a conversation in 1986 when I was resigning from the research team. I expressed my concerns CLEARLY about how messed up the leaders were, as well as the research (which he knew some of) and his reply was only that he needed time to think about things. Obviously, he thought differently than I did ...
This son had no chance to decide. He was in TWI because of his parents. Like so many other kids, the choice to be involved with TWI was their parents', not theirs, and this puts things in a different light. My daughter was 12 yrs. old when we broke from TWI. Only recently she told me she had thought we believed VPW was Jesus Christ! Good grief. Now, I know no one ever said that out loud. Never did I tell her that is what we believed, because we did not believe that outrageous idea (at least I didn't). But evidently, as a little girl, she picked up on the way we showered VPW with adoration, kowtowed to his authority on "the Word," and repeated his name all the time, made him into a "king" of sorts. So in her little girl mind, she made that horrific connection. Very telling ...
New Knoxville does have a K-12 school on its main street ... State Road 29.
I was painting a mural for the new Knoxville school gym on the day VPW died. A cowboy on horseback by the words Ranger Country.I thought then, and even more so later, that it felt good to do something for the community, besides providing customers for Adolphs.
While passing through Ohio in 2003, I stopped by the school out of curiosity. The custodian showed me that the mural was still there. They had recently repainted the gym , but painted around the mural. I have no idea if it is still there. Adolphs had closed down , and I was immediately followed by security as I slowly drove past the fountain of stagnant waters.

Wow, Penworks, thanks for sharing that!
A couple of things occurred to me. Once again, that old saying actions speak louder than words came to mind. I think our kids go more on what we do than what we say.
The other thing is the startling observation from a child’s perspective. Perhaps her young mind was not as cluttered up with all the intellectual smoke and mirrors of TWI's doctrine & practice - and was therefore capable of seeing how much of our belief system actually revolved around the cult leader.

Perhaps her young mind was not as cluttered up with all the intellectual smoke and mirrors of TWI's doctrine & practice - and was therefore capable of seeing how much of our belief system actually revolved around the cult leader.
