Good because I was out of clues. Ed Harris is correct. Some of his more familiar work is his character Bud Brigman in The Abyss, Gene Kranz in Apollo 13, Christof in The Truman Show, Dave Moss in Glengarry Glen Ross, John Glenn in The Right Stuff and Parcher in A Beautiful Mind. You are up now George St George.
What can I say? He was in a lot of stuff. I will keep posting as I get to the better-remembered stuff. Perhaps you'll recognize something before I get to the obvious roles.
No. Nobody quite so iconic. He seems to have gotten a lot of work where he faded into the background or something. He's well-known for about 2 roles. Oddly enough, I know him best for a 3rd role and not for the other 2. Well, knowing me, it's not so odd, but statistically it's unusual. (It's a little like recognizing Shatner for "" Incubus" or "TJ Hooker" and not the other stuff.) I'm hoping one or more of the other roles will trigger something like "Hey, that's right, [actor's name] was in that movie playing that guy! Clean forgot until now!"

He was looking for it to use as a clue in a game round a few weeks after he was looking for it. Meanwhile, I hope he posts the next one soon.

Well ... yeah. I was about 15 when it came out. (Saw it a couple of years later, when I was in college.) Fonda DID win the Best Actress Oscar for the performance. George

Yes. He's done a lot of roles with the first name Richard or Dick. Had to try to avoid most of them (as well as Bert the Chimneysweep)!
You're up.

No. BTW, those waiting for his best-known roles should check again, his 2nd or 3rd-best known role was posted. (Depending on who you ask.)
