I thought "Tony Clifton" would be the giveaway. He was an alter-ego for Andy Kaufman that Bob Zmuda sometimes dressed as, so there were only 3 people who played him- Kaufman, Zmuda, and Carrey as Kaufman in "Man on the Moon." We also had Dick from "Fun With Dick and Jane", Bruce from "Bruce Almighty". Mr Popper from the "Penguins", Carl Allen the "Yes Man", Peter Appleton from "the Majestic", Count Olaf from the "Series of Unfortunate Events", both the me and myself from "Me, Myself and Irene", Fletcher Reedle the "Liar Liar", and so on.

Louie Anderson and Christian Slater are there to throw you off. It seems it worked. Louie played the character in an episode of "Drunk History," and Christian played a young version. One of the other actors received an Oscar for the role.
I keep forgetting to run this past Mrs Wolf, but I mentioned one role was played by both Timothy Spall and Gary Oldman and that didn't spark a memory. Let me run this list of Brits past her and see what she says.
Ok, we just put our heads together. We figured this is probably: a British role, a historical role (otherwise, why on "Drunk HISTORY"?), a role famous enough to be nominated for an Oscar, let alone win (to say nothing of attracting some of these people.) Considering all that, and trying to picture TIMOTHY SPALL making the list means that we think we should start with
That's very good. So if these clues are still the subject of debate and because you have fed us with the G I A N T S P O O N coming down from the sky I will go ahead and give an answer. Is this Winston Churchill?

He was looking for it to use as a clue in a game round a few weeks after he was looking for it. Meanwhile, I hope he posts the next one soon.

Refreshing the page after submitting works, too. George

Well ... yeah. I was about 15 when it came out. (Saw it a couple of years later, when I was in college.) Fonda DID win the Best Actress Oscar for the performance. George

He is not, and at least a few of those names are probably familiar to you, in a "THAT's the character's full name?" way.

Interesting choice, but, no. More recent. Your logic is otherwise correct, however.

Well, if it's a Brit we'd want to make fun of,. how about King George III, reigning British monarch during the US American Revolution?
