Fearless Leader was from Rocky and Bullwinkle. In the movie, that was Bob DeNiro. If that's who this is, you REALLY tried to find obscure roles!
George
They were. You're right, Robert DeNiro. When I thought of him, I was surprised to find so many movies with just a single name as the role, plus I figured I could take you for a ride. If I were looking at the list Jack Walsh would have given it away. Midnight Run. You're up George. (Just so you know George I wasn't really trying to mess with you I was just rolling with it).

Sometimes, it depends on where you look. IMDb often gives only first names, while Wikipedia may give full names.
Would someone please provide me a brief description of the game and its rules?
I can imagine modifications and updates along the way, but with 85 pages in this thread... well, it's too much straw to sort.
You have two options, here. You can pick a character (movie and/or TV) and name three actors who portrayed that character. E.g., Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill --> Superman. Voice actors in cartoons are allowed. If no one gets it with three actors, add a few more.
Alternatively, you can choose three roles portrayed by a single actor. E.g., John Nash, Jor-el, Javert --> Russell Crowe. Again, voice work is acceptable.
In this case, I'm giving actor names; you must guess the character.

*wild swing* Alfred Pennyworth? (I'm just spitballing, here...)
BTW, when giving hints, you should look up the answers so the clues are correct. If you are guessing, you are unable to look anything up, because that's cheating. If you feel you must look something up, you should announce you did and are out for the round. (If everyone is out, nobody can guess, so that's important.)
I forgot that it's customary, in some circles, to use British actors to play ancient Romans. This is probably an ancient Roman. I wish I could summon up some kind of list of roles Claude Rains played (without cheating.)

How about "I, Claudius", the title role?
Right church, wrong pew. Much more famous than Claudius.

He was looking for it to use as a clue in a game round a few weeks after he was looking for it. Meanwhile, I hope he posts the next one soon.

Refreshing the page after submitting works, too. George

Well ... yeah. I was about 15 when it came out. (Saw it a couple of years later, when I was in college.) Fonda DID win the Best Actress Oscar for the performance. George

No. Though Dalton did portray him.

No. This character was a real person (and predates Pennyworth by a couple of millennia).

I was going to go with the little boots guy, but for really famous, I'm going with

No. Just because Branagh is on the list is no guarantee the answer involves Shakespeare.

True, but I can see every other person on the list whom I recognize doing Shakespeare.
