I thought you might be referring to the Zodiac film with Gyllenhaal but that was earlier than 2010 and the plot don't fit. I do think I can hear a Cinde Lauper song in the distance.
A hard-luck inventor develops a flying car, which he uses to try to help a troubled high school student avoid a violent confrontation with the school jocks.
"Bang, Bang You're Dead" From Wikipedia: At Rivervale High School, Trevor Adams (Ben Foster) is a bullied outcast trying to fit back in after a false bomb threat he made a few months ago. Trevor is chosen to star in a play called Bang Bang You're Dead as the main character, Josh. After parents and the community hear of the play and its lead actor, they call for it to be canceled.
Starring as one of the teachers, Tom "Reverse-Flash" Cavanagh.
Two brothers move to a new town, and are convinced that many of the townspeople are vampires. They are invited to a party where they are the only heterosexual men. They realize that the others are, in fact, undead, as they continually recount stories of their WW II battles as part of Easy Company. A TV movie.

The first part is a movie you've used more than once (I think). The middle was a controversial movie from 1970. You would probably get it if you got the first part.

Ok. It's got a lot of detail, so I was confused at first. It sounds like 3 movies or shows because "Big Trouble in Little China" is that kind of movie. While humming the theme song, I was eventual

Another triple.
In this movie,
a writer builds a time machine and travels into the past,
chasing a contemporary serial killer who fled to ancient Iran.
There they clash with a potential future king over a special knife
containing magical sand as well as ownership of the time machine,
for their similar properties. His job becomes more difficult
when an officer for a security agency kick-boxes his way into
that time and place, trying to end damage to the timeline.

Jake's actually been in a LOT of stuff in the past 10 years.
Something like that may be in the middle.
Meanwhile,
what would you call a potential future king of ancient Iran?
Whether or not you were a videogame fan?

The end of this is "...Time after Timecop."
Ancient Iran was Persia, and I seem to recall a video game about it, but I can't think of a title which ends in "Time"

Right so far. What would you call the man who might eventually become king of the place?

That would be the Prince of Persia. Still no "Time" though.

WW: The subtitle of Prince of Persia was not really used here in the States

It wasn't?

Sure looks like the subtitle was part of the official name as well as
the advertising for the movie. It's on the theatrical release poster.
"Star Trek"(2009) is also known as "Star Trek: the Future Begins", and
that's even in the theatrical release poster, but is not written to
indicate that was the official release title. IMdB lists it as
"Star Trek"(2009).

So, "POP-Sands of Time" may not have been best known by that name,
but then "Scott Pilgrim" is remembered more as "Scott Pilgrim" and not as
"Scott Pilgrim Saves the World." Doesn't change the name, however.
The Powers That Be were hoping to make a movie franchise of POP, so
they were clear from the beginning they wanted the movies to have
different names. If "Pirates of the Carribbean: the Curse of the Black Pearl"
had been the end of that franchise, few would remember it has a subtitle
as well.
Anyway, I think someone can name the entire thing now.....

I was actually going to guess "The Sands of Time After Timecop," even before the last couple of posts.

"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the Drum Slowly"?

I suspect that the second film is not well-known enough.
Pretend you're a six-year-old, playing cops 'n robbers, and you shoot your finger (pretend) gun at your friend. What do you say?
