"A bloated millionaire fat cat" as he's known, is given a birthday present by his younger brother that takes him on a suspenseful ride, leaves him destitute, and when he looses everything, he jumps off a building. He lands on his feet in a fantasy world like that of Medieval Europe where several noble tribes fight for control of the kingdom.
I already guessed the "It's a Wonderful Life" half. It's the roller derby part I'm not getting. It's obviously not "Kansas City Bomber," the only roller derby movie I've ever seen.
A remarkable story of a young man with cerebral palsy, able only to control one of his limbs, who nonetheless shakes up an east Texas town by bringing dancing to it.
I thought that I'd used this before but it didn't come up after checking.
An alien comes to earth to warn of it's impending doom from three teenagers whose parents didn't infuse upon them any values of their own because they didn't have any.

Too easy, too hard? Any ideas? Need more clues? Need me to expand it? The ladders half was a TV series mid-2000 that ran for 4 years.

That movie, I'm sure, wasn't directed by Drew Barrymore and didn't star Ellen Page.
I tend to remember 2 movies Ellen Page was in.
One was "Juno", when she played a pregnant teen.
This was the other.

Yes it is George. Now there is just one word left to solve it.
I know one of the actors in the TV show was also one of the actors in The Full Monty. Big help huh?
[Hint:] He was the chubby guy.
