This TV show followed The Danny Thomas Show in Prime Time. Sort of like kept in the family.
I knew enough to guess about "Girl Interrupted" but not about the TV show.
That's my fault then, WordWolf. I should have been more specific as to the plot, instead I used what I thought would be a fairly recognizable reference.

Ok. It's got a lot of detail, so I was confused at first. It sounds like 3 movies or shows because "Big Trouble in Little China" is that kind of movie. While humming the theme song, I was eventual

Ted Bissell played the love interest in the show.

Okay, then. It's been so long, I didn't remember what "That Girl" was about. (Though I watched it every week.)

While we're waiting....
This is a TV-movie starring Fred Dryer as a President of the United States,
who goes to work alongside the LAPD in order to kill bloodsucking undead
before they take over the US.

I would guess "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter"; although, with "Hunter" being a one-word title, one only has the title of the movie...

That's it.
It made more sense in my head last night when I posted it.
(Because of time-zone differences, it's hours later here than the posting time notes.)

If it's what I'm thinking,
that's a brilliant choice.
I have to leave it up for a bit just so others can take a chance at it.

The party mentioned above is obviously someone who has graced the tabloids lately.

"Reefer Madness of King George."
George (our George) took a film I haven't seen-but is fairly well-known so I know the name-
and mixed it with a classic b&w film intended to terrify the US public out of ever
trying 'reefer'. From their descriptions, the thing is an awful lot like LSD,
only more dangerous. Most of us who've ever heard of it still haven't seen it.
I should, because it's unintentional comedy. When my kid is old enough, I'll show it
to him so he can practice critiquing propaganda so he's better at recognizing
the modern stuff.

I was going with Amanda Bynes (pot bust in the tabloids) movie What A Girl Wants.
In it Colin Firth also, is an English royal who behaves irrationally.

Part of this must be "Night of the Living Dead" (or, maybe, "Dawn of the Dead"); but vampires in Alaska isn't ringing any bells.
