Although DC Comics tried to sue the producers for copying Superman, the show's premise is closer to that of another DC Comics character, Green Lantern, who was given a power ring by an alien to become a superhero.
At the start of the series, the stars had difficulties getting along and working with each other. They were able to use that to their advantage as their relationship reflected that as the one portrayed between their respective characters. The stars became good friends by the series' end.
The main character's surname was changed from Hinkley to Hanley after the assassination attempt on Reagan.
The hero has a "handicap," which while making for a useful pilot and maybe a few episodes, his failure to overcome it made him look sappy (IMHO).
Even teasing, Raf must have had some reason to come with THAT title.
Anyway, you are correct.
The "handicap" I was referring to was his lack of knowledge of using the suit. It was cute initially, but you knew he'd either get the hang of it or he was a complete dolt. I don't think I watched the show long enough to find out which. I do remember one cute scene where a little kid, obviously from reading comic books or watching cartoons, tells him how to fly: "Take three steps and jump!"

The reason was "Believe It Or Not" (song)/"Ripley's Believe It Or Not."
This short-lived live action series was based on a cartoon, based on a comic book.
The studio did not have the rights to all of the comic/cartoon characters, so two of the main characters were changed. Intentionally or not, this added some "diversity" to the lineup.

I'm not clear what your point is then. I don't think I'm much older than anyone here. I thought the whole point of this game was to stir memories ,and realize-'oh yeah-I do remember that show !' I'm

In the "Jump the Shark" episode of Batman B&B, they go through all of the ways to JTS listed on that website, including having Ted McGinley on! George

C) The DC/Fawcett character must be Captain Marvel, now known as Shazam. I think the show is Beat Shazam George

There were two TV shows by this name.
Neither is the correct answer.
I'm interested to know how you came to make this guess. :)

That wasn't a guess, he was teasing.
The "Hinkley/Hanley" thing means this was the guy who hoped to be
"the Greatest American Hero."
The theme song for that show?
"Believe It Or Not".

Ok, let's see.
Another handful of semi-obscure shows.
Name one to take the round.
1. This show has a hot-tempered chef visit hotels to try to fix them up.
2. This show has a hot-tempered chef visit restaurants to try to fix them up.
(That was not a typo.)
3. This show has a bunch of mobile kitchens competing in a city simultaneously,
with the one making the least money eliminated until one winner is left.
4. This show has 2 mobile kitchens compete head-to-head in a city.
(Great, now I'm hungry....)

Oh great. The last time you did this I was pretty sure I knew the show and I struck out. I think it was the bar trivia one.
Since I'm allowed guessing, let's try Hotel Impossible.

Please mention which you're trying to guess, since I know you don't
mean that you're guessing that's all of them at the same time.
However, sadly, I decided not to go with the one you mentioned.
I saved an episode to watch later, but I didn't use it,
especially since you introduced me to it and it would be like handing
the answer to you. (I reserved the right to add it to the round
if nobody got it, though.)

went head-to-head to determine a winner.

Sadly, I mentioned that was an incorrect guess.
Any thoughts about the others?

tortures of a veritable Dante's Inferno when they're truly awful.
2. This show has hot-tempered British chef Gordon Ramsay visiting restaurants
to try to fix them up and turn them around, so that their cooking areas
are more like pleasant dreams and less like something else.
3. This great show (well, I like it) has a bunch of mobile kitchens
competing in a city simultaneously,
speeding from city to city,
with the one making the least money eliminated until one winner is left.
4. This show has 2 mobile kitchens compete head-to-head in a city.

Despite its name, there were NOT 80 different stops and food challenges,
it was a mini-series instead.

There is a show called "Hell's KITCHEN."
It has nothing to do with HOTELS.
So, you did not name #1.
There is a show named "Kitchen Nightmares."
It's the show I described in #2, and you guessed it correctly.
So, your turn!
