Yes. Helen Hunt starred with Paul Reiser who played a married couple in New York City. I liked it.
I always go back to one scene that I flash back to where Helen Hunt walks from the bathroom to the living room where Paul Riser is sitting down and without a word holds a roll of toilet paper in one hand, and inserts the holder from her other hand in the roll of toilet paper and walks away. Apparently, men were too lazy to do this.
Unfortunately, for both of them their $1,000,000 salaries only lasted for one year
when the ratings dropped and the show was canceled.
According to IMDB, this sitcom was the first tv series to reference the internet. It also holds the distinction of having the first African-American to receive an emmy for best actor in a comedy series, and to this day it is still the only time an African American has won that award.
Late70's to mid 80's tv series. It was a spin off from another series.
Yes. Robert Guillaume "Benson" is known mostly for acting roles he did in tv. Surprising to me is that he did not do that many movies. Soap was the show from which Benson spun off. Your up Wolfy.

I'm not clear what your point is then. I don't think I'm much older than anyone here. I thought the whole point of this game was to stir memories ,and realize-'oh yeah-I do remember that show !' I'm

In the "Jump the Shark" episode of Batman B&B, they go through all of the ways to JTS listed on that website, including having Ted McGinley on! George

C) The DC/Fawcett character must be Captain Marvel, now known as Shazam. I think the show is Beat Shazam George

This show often featured the show-within-a-show, "Tool Time."

That last part could apply to a few shows.
For the first part, I'm guessing "The Jeffersons."
(They spun off of "All in the Family.")

No. If it were WordWolf, then Sherman Helmsley would have won an Emmy for best actor. But it wasn't him or the right series.
And true, so many comedy series of the time spun off and became new shows.

Clue: If Arnold the governor were in office he would need a butler.

Oh!
Raf should take this one.
I only know anything about it because he watched it.
:)
(Unless he wants me to get that instead.)

The "governor's butler" makes it obvious. If Rafdoesn't take it later today, I'll jump in. Unless, of course, WordWolf goes first!

Well, I gave Raf a moment to chime in.
This must be "Benson."

The name of this cartoon/title character came from Frank Sinatra's singing.

A horrible guess, Magoo? Felix? It's too old I'm thinking.

That's it.
At the end of the lyrics, Sinatra did a scat improvisation.
"Scooby dooby doo."
Iwao Takamoto, the animator who created the cartoon dog Scooby-Doo, said that he got the inspiration to name his character from Sinatra's ad-lib.
Cartoon Network's shown video of Takamoto explaining the details of inventing the cartoon,
including this detail. And the dog, of course, has said "Scooby dooby doo" a lot, as has one theme song.

This show had a lot of "catch phrases." Any one might give it away, but let's start with:
"The pain, the pain..."
