When the star was negotiating his salary, he had his choice between more money per week and no ownership stake in the show, or less money per week and part ownership. He chose the ownership deal and never regretted it considering the series' durable popularity in syndication gave him a regular income even as he struggled with being typecast by it.
When asked how he developed his trademark voice for his character, the star said that it came from watching "The Thin Man" movies starring William Powell and Myrna Loy. After hearing Powell repeatedly say, "Asta! Asta!" he decided to imitate his voice for the character.
Rumors that the female co-star's character was originally to be given a more suggestive name were debunked by the actress.
Talk show host Johnny Carson made cameo appearances twice during the show's run. Once as a train conductor, and again as a royal herald in a foreign King's court.

The female co-star was initially reluctant to commit to the series. She refused to sign a traditional five-year contract, and signed for only four episodes. After filming the pilot, she agreed to commit to the series, but signed a three-year contract. After the third season, she agreed to sign for two more years.
The star developed his character's voice and (primary) catch phrase while a cast member on the Bill Dana Show.
When this show was originally in development, the producers approached the band that sang "Happy Together" to compose the theme song. It didn't happen, and the producers created their own, which is now iconic.
At tge time of its final episode, it was the longest running animated series in American TV history. It ran from 1987 to 1996.
It was soon surpassed by the Simpsons.
***
It has been adapted into two live action movie franchises, and had at least two animated theatrical releases as well [one of which is due in theaters this month, if I am not mistaken].
It is, itself, an adaptation.
Its original source material is a stealth spinoff of Daredevil, and some of the character and group names make sense in the light.
Stealth spinoff. That means you won't find any actual references to Daredevil, because Marvel would have sued.
So it wasn't Marvel.
So the name of the SONG "Happy Together" is not the important part of the original clue.
You will smack your forehead when you realize the answer.
Young Matt Murdock saw a truck about to hit an old man, so he shoved the old man clear. When the truck crashed, a cylinder it was carrying- with radioactive materials- struck him across the eyes, and, in essence, mutated him. The son of boxer "Battlin' Murdock", Matt later learned martial arts from Stick. Stick's order frequently clashed with ninjas known as The Hand.
In the stealth ripoff, someone left a pet store with their purchase, and was walking on the sidewalk when they saw a truck moving erratically. A young man pushed an old man clear from being hit head-on. Unfortunately for that young daredevil (what else would you call him?), a cylinder from the back of the truck was thrown clear and struck him in the head. The cylinder continued to fly, and struck the case of baby turtles the purchaser was carrying. The 4 turtles and the cylinder both ended up falling into the sewers. They (the turtles) were found by a rat that had been raised by a martial artist, and somehow mutated on his own. This rat's name was SPLINTER. He raised the 4 turtles, and taught them what he'd picked up imitating the sensei. When they turned out to be intelligent, he used a book on art he'd rescued from a storm drain to come up with names for the turtles- Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael. Occasionally, they clashed with a group of ninjas called "The Foot."
That was the black and white comic book origin of Eastman and Laird's "TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES." (The panels were reprinted in the main gamebook for their pen and paper RPG, "TMNT and other strangeness.") In the cartoon, a lot of that changed. There was no truck and young man event. There was no sensei raising a rat- Splinter was a sensei who was transformed into a rat. And the 4 turtles with red headbands got different colors to tell them apart more easily (although they still all used different weapons- Leonardo had 2 swords, Michaelangelo had nunchucks, Donatello had a staff, and Raphael used the sai.)
"Teenage mutant ninja turtles- heroes on a half-shell! Turtle power!"
Well, I don't know nearly enough about Daredevil or TMT to have guessed this. The Turtles - Turtles idea is cute, but it never would have occurred to me. Good work, WW.
Part of my problem is that most of the shows I like are obviously not watched by the posters here, and probably aren't popular all around. I'll think harder and get something up here.

I'm not clear what your point is then. I don't think I'm much older than anyone here. I thought the whole point of this game was to stir memories ,and realize-'oh yeah-I do remember that show !' I'm

In the "Jump the Shark" episode of Batman B&B, they go through all of the ways to JTS listed on that website, including having Ted McGinley on! George

C) The DC/Fawcett character must be Captain Marvel, now known as Shazam. I think the show is Beat Shazam George

Indeed. There was a rumor that Agent 99 was originally to be Agent 69, but Barbara Feldon claimed it wasn't true.

Lightbulb moment!
The new song was "Come On, Get Happy," the theme song for the Partridge Family.
("Careful- Nervous Mother Driving")

Why so serious? [No, it's not Batman]
The song title is NOT the main clue.

The Turtles did "Happy Together" in 1967, so the show in question must have come afterwards, probably shortly afterwards.
Happy Days?

Incorrect.
Your deductions are, in order, correct, incorrect, incorrect.
Your name is correct. But you knew that.
The show in question came afterwards.
Not shortly afterwards by any reasonable definition, except maybe geological.
And Happy Days is not it. Though again, good guess.
Reminder: the song title is not the important part of the clue. Neither is the date of the song's release.
You have identified the important part of the clue.

Welcome Back, Kotter?
The song's title is not important, but it's iconic?

No, the singer/songwriter was entirely responsible for that one.
Thinking it's about people getting together and being happy,
how about this being "THE BRADY BUNCH"?
That theme song is iconic, if game shows are to be believed.

no and no.
THE. NAME. OF. THE. SONG.
Happy Together
IS. NOT. THE. IMPORTANT. PART. OF. THE. CLUE.
Maybe iconic was too strong a word. I think it applies, though.
Not on the sane level as those others, unless you were a kid at the time, I guess.

Ok, Daredevil got his powers because...
And then he learned from a master named...
And then he fought a secret society known as...
