a clue like what Andy Griffith did on the show would be revealing the title. He had high hopes for this getting him out of the Sheriff of Mayberry rut-but it just didn't catch on- actually Matlock was funnier.
darn it-how can I NOT say I know this show-I even remember Bob Cummings leaving the show before the end of the season (supposedly because he and Julie didn't get along ) and my favorite 60's second banana Jack Mullaney taking the lead. Of course the only reason to watch was Julie Newmar. But I 'll let someone else name the show.
well if it's sunday night I have to watch a guy make a mock run for president, a hippie girl do a show called 'tea time', and guy make his brother kiss his bass.
it was actually called 'share a little tea with goldie' Leigh French, a 'hippy' comedian, did a recurring skit of a take off on afternoon 'girl talk' tv shows, where everything was pot related. The Paulsen presidential campaigned began and centers on the Smothers show. Tom and Dick got into an argument about how much Tom loves his guitar-then Tom tricks Dick into kissing his big bass-then makes feel like an idiot for falling for it. Steve Martin was a cast writer and would appear now and then (with dark hair), the future 'super dave osborn' also wrote and sometimes played a motorcycle cop.
I still remember Paulsen talking about gun control: "You come home and find your wife in the arms of another man. What are you going to do? Poison him?"
I can't remember if I've used this one on this thread before. For some reason, the search function will search the forums as a whole, but not just this thread. Anyway:
A number of shows have had actors replaced by others, either in the same role (e.g., Darin Stevens) or as a replacement (Bub/Uncle Charlie). This show had three actors play one role, two actors playing another, and a third character was "replaced" upon the death of an actor. (PS I'm using the term actor without reference to gender.)

That's not the one I'm thinking of. I don't think Bonnie Franklin's character was a recovering alcoholic, and I don't remember what her job was. The one I have in mind appeared about 20 years after "One Day at a Time."

I'm not clear what your point is then. I don't think I'm much older than anyone here. I thought the whole point of this game was to stir memories ,and realize-'oh yeah-I do remember that show !' I'm

In the "Jump the Shark" episode of Batman B&B, they go through all of the ways to JTS listed on that website, including having Ted McGinley on! George

C) The DC/Fawcett character must be Captain Marvel, now known as Shazam. I think the show is Beat Shazam George

I seem to recall something with Andy Griffith as a preacher, though that might have been a movie, or even a made-for-TV movie.

I'm thinking this is too obscure so I'll reveal it's 'the Headmaster', from 1970. Andy played the head of a private school and the world tuned out.

I've gotten a couple of the obscure ones, but this was not memorable.
Go again!

Between the obscurity of the show and the low number of current players,
I'm surprised we had ONE player who knew the answer.
Feel free to wait, but don't be surprised if all you get are crickets chirping.

Obviously, hiway and I watched a lot of the same TV.
The robot's name was Rhonda (or AF704, depending on whom you ask).

Sounds like "The Smothers Brothers."
I remember Pat Paulsen's mock Presidential campaign; was that on the show?
I also remember the phrase "kiss my bass," but I don't remember "tea time."

A recovering alcoholic divorces her abusive husband and gets a blue-collar job to support her kids. Surprisingly, it's a comedy.
