edit: it didn't come out of Sun Records, it came out of Stax/Volt -- but it may have been recorded in Muscle Shoals instead of Memphis. I'm going off th etop of my head.

In 1951, Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats released Rocket 88, a song that has long been viewed as the very first

Rock & Roll song. However, the band did not actually exist. This is really Ike Turner with his saxophone player, Jackie Brenston, providing the horn and vocals.
