Of course, twi is the same, but the world is different.
Kids are a LOT more cynical (and they were the twi target audience),
and the internet makes it impossible to hide dirty secrets or make
people disappear and only tell YOUR side of the story.
So, the same tactics are used today- and fail in a fairly spectacular
fashion today...
I tend to agree with this, although I see young people in TWI offshoot groups who are blind to VP's plagarism, abuse, etc. and who continute to propagate the false notion of him as their "father in the Word." Guess what we can hope for is that any new recruits will get the information they need from the internet so they do NOT get involved.
One issue I see is that some TWI offshoots do not admit their past connection to TWI and/or the doctrines they teach are based on Wierwille's stuff.

...and I wonder why that is...if these people still buy into Vic's teachings, why don't they give credit to him?...
Is it because he has been shown as an abusive fraud?...or is it because Wierwille himself set the example of taking the credit for other people's work?
From what I see most of these guys took away the lesson of how to make a living selling God...

Interesting, if the person had Googled TWI they would end up here.
I wonder what s/he will think about the responses? Nothing favorable there.

:D Ham!
I think part of it might be that it sounds too good to be true, but - darn it - we so want it to be true, don't we?

You mean you CAN'T put old wine in new wineskins and have it remove all the bad elements of the old wine?
Hangs head stalking off.
