Leafy, you hit the nail on the head. The closer you got to the center the worse it was. I think it was set up so you would get to your level of tolerance incrementally, and the stay at your maximum tolerance level. I just got pushed past mine.

I believe that way international has been considered a cult for years.

I have known about TWI for over 25 years, but I never thought of it as a "cult" until last fall when I stumbled onto this forum. It's still hard for me to get used to the idea that it is, indeed, a cult.

Of course, I was never in it.

I think distance from Head Quarters had a lot to do with that... Some of my worst experiences with TWI were when I was at Head quarters, at ROA.

EXACTLY.

Nothing could compare to being at the epicenter of anal-ville. Everything was controlled. Some staff had to sign-out for bathroom breaks. Every meeting mandatory. Every weekend was not really "a weekend."

All townies were unbelievers. All staffers were 'the best." Us versus Them.....in everything.

Everything wierwille did was 'by revelation.' What churches did were 'of the devil.'

Yep......a controlling, conniving cult.

:anim-smile:
