Melissa Scott- just my 2 cents here. The widow of Gene Scott, IMO a maniacal cult leader who peaked in the 90's with a very entertaining TV 'ministry'. He was another one knew the word better than anyone, and was satirized on SNL with his confusing blackboard scrawls that were impossible to follow or de cipher. When he wasn't on stage, he was sitting in a chair smoking a cigar in an extreme close up, while he ranted to the audience in a manner that would rival VP or Martindale on a good day. He'd rake his hardest workers over the coals and make them love it. He'd berate his followers at home because they weren't giving enough, then order you to GET ON THE PHONE and GIVE.
While you were calling in to give, they'd show the good Dr on his ranch, often bicycling or horseback riding with a couple hot young women in revealing clothes. These were interchangeable, and one wondered where this harem came from.
One attractive young woman would sing on his tv services. This was Melissa, and he eventually married her. When he died, it was similar to the way when VP died, and Melissa stepped in to take his place. In my opinion she's the worst teacher I've ever heard. She desperately tries to come off with the same authority and no nonsense vibe that Gene Scott did, but she's not able to pull it off. Her blackboard scrawls aren't as crazy as her husband's were, but to me they're just as indecipherable. She is very intelligent, and she loves to break down words to their origins and usages, and it's like one of those endless way teachings that seemed to go on forever. Of course that's my opinion. Maybe others find her riveting. Gene Scott's church still is on TV, but much like the way, it lost it's 'charm' when the leader died.
I thot I saw her on a video some time ago as Barbie Bridges. So I googled it. Shore enuf! She be the same woman. As Barbie Bridges she was a XXX porn star.
Jim.... no not really, she is actually fairly entertaining to watch ... and seems to have a pretty good sized following .. but for me it was too much like listening to a TWI Teaching .. and I tend to be suspicious of everyone.
Hmmm knowing the porn star part of it makes it more interesting, and explains a bit of her personality.
Melissa Scott is wildly entertaining to watch and seems to take herself quite seriously, but I've not been able to ever catch her "bring the Concorde in for a landing" any time I've ever watched her show.

What if VP was reincarnated as a porn star turned preacher?
Same old same old.

So she's sorta the Rosalee Rivenbark of the Dr. Gene Scott world... That's scary.
