It was a much more complex situation with me when I was a focus of my very abusive splinter group back a few years ago.
For me any knee-jerk response on my part would have imediately cost me my family.
And it would have allowed them to portray me as the bully too, even in the eyes of the law I suppose. But one local police officer that I met said that from his perspective I was handling it all pretty well. But for me, handling it all pretty well included no kind of reprisal that they would have used against me.
