Well now I am really confused. . . someone comes here and has an over the top initial post. . . is called on it and what?? We say it is okay because he is young? People called him on it. . . . and all "kidding" aside. . . that seems the proper response.

This is a discussion forum. . . no? Things are discussed? Differing opinions and viewpoints? What is it exactly we discuss? A cult that has hurt many people. . . whose cult? VP's cult and now his family seems intent on carrying on the legacy.

Offshoot is a really nice word, but an offshoot of what. . . a nice little bible study? Not in my world.

That family is poison. I am sorry they had VP for a dad and grandfather, but they can walk away from this garbage just like the rest of us. No one is forcing them to try and bring back the glory days.

Do you know what finally penetrated my pea size brain? The truth of what it was really all about.

The other side of the story. If he doesn't know like we didn't at that age. . . be a stand up person and tell him.

Or we can tell him it is great he is on this path with this group and more power to him. Yeah. . . hang with the Wierwilles. . . where else can you get the "word".

779, I think if he hangs with the Wierwilles, he will get F-ed over when he can no longer be of use to them.  If he has a brain, he can look up TWI on the Internet, and decide for himself, what he wants to do with his life.  Personally, I hope he runs far, and fast from both TWI, and the SOWERS.  But, he will have to make that decision for himself.

So few have lived to speak of it. . . LOL

I think what bothers me most is that after all the things that have been exposed about VP and TWI and the hodge podge--ramshackle musings VP threw together to justify an ugly lifestyle. . . they still persist in calling it the "Word" and worshiping it as something real? What are the qualifications of any of these people? Seminary. . . bible college. . . being raised in a sound church? No, they were in a cult like the rest of us. . .

Why are they running a program? What exactly is it that people think this family has? It is unrecognizable to very many outside our little group as the Christian faith? It is a religion. . . . unique to this particular family and those who have been following them for years.

We never left the word?? What does that even mean?

779, I think you raise some very interesting questions.  I am not sure that I have any answers, to your questions, but I also wonder why the grandson of VPW is the head of another group(cult?). IMO, VPW was a POS, who ruined a lot of lives.  What is the purpose of SOWERS??  If V2P2 really wants to help people, why doesn't he attend a "real" Bible College, become a minister, and help people in a church??  I think in time, SOWERS will either implode, or disband.  I don't think it will ever amount to anything, but perhaps I will be wrong.

Well that would show us some things wouldnt it? Someone else still has to do his thinking and decision making for him, there is a hierarchy and control issues, and personal responsibility is still near nil

He personally told us that he'd take questions. If the student who sat at the feet of the great MOG St. Vic Jr cannot do something as simple as keeping his word on a very simple matter what does that tell us?

Silence tells us just as much as words at this point, no matter what the angle, whether he bailed on us, or if someone told him to bow to the organizations first it doesnt speak well of either the organization or him.

So far he is holding us, as well as himself, in disregard.

I gave this young man a fair opportunity to open up and share as he would (check back to the first few pages)--so far I am not impressed

Neither am I.

Somehow people can ruin the most amazing things for themselves. God's Word is the most important thing we have in this world. Anyone diligently working it gets the nod from me. The Way does this and so do other organizations. For me The Way is the greatest thing in my life.

Heck, God help you!!

I know when my friend got into a wreck he lived at another believers house while he healed. Remember, it's composed of people who open their homes to people. I know many fellowship coordinators that give everything they've got to help believers. If your hungry theirs always some way we can help. A spiritually hungry widow will get help. A hungry orphan (lol @ oliver twist) will get help! What are you wanting The Way to do? behave like a worldly religion? Advertise on TV? Send money all over in hopes to get recognition and more money flow? Build buildings for people that aren't hungry? What are your expectations? I have a feeling your expectations aren't in accordance with the Word.

Heck, I expect people to use proper English.

Of course we worked on the farm! It has a purpose. To build discipline and establish a sense of responsibilty and a need to work for people who may otherwise have never been exposed to it. We only worked 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week, hardly slave labor. In fact i am used to a rural lifestyle working in warehouses and on farms. It is not unusual for me to work 70 hours in a week. The work part of the program is VERY important, but truth be told, it was a vacation as for me as far as work goes. Some people will get a LOT of benefit out of it. I persoanlly didnt. But some people need growth in caertain areas while others need growth in other areas.

Responsibility.

I wanna learn to be responsible.  I wanna look like I work hard and take the bull by the horns.

That might come with risk and decisions and disappointment.  That sounds uncomfortable.

What to do????

Got it!

I'll join a cult!!
