According to IMDB site, there have been 8 Moby Dick feature films made.  Hollywood is fond of Moby Dick apparently.

Don't be shocked.  Moby Dick is public domain, so they don't have to pay copyrights for using the story.  So, it's a more economic choice for a movie.
