"Did you ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
George
I remember you used this line a while back and was surprised about the movie it came from. It's not from a hard-core film (obviously George, those aren't the type your into) like L.A. Confidential, or Goodfellows, it's something like Young Frankenstein (not literally, but something like it, a farce comedy) or, Trains, Plains, and Automobiles,
"Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for HIS country."
"Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for HIS country."
George
I think, but I'm not sure, could this be Inglorious Bastards?
"Patton" is correct. The line I quoted is from the opening of the movie, where "Patton" addresses the troops.
The line WW quoted (which I probably used earlier), was Patton beating the Afrika Korps in a tank battle, because he had read Rommel's book on tank warfare.

Actually,
I didn't put the line in quotes because I didn't know if it was in the movie!
I know it's credited to the General, as was the one you quoted.
"Uh, well, if anyone from the, uh, from the IRS is watching, I... forgot to file my, my, my 1040 return. Um, I meant to do it today, but, uh..."
"That's no joke. They'll jump on him!"
"Jack, you'll be glad to hear that we've contacted President Nixon, and he's going to grant you an extension on your income taxes, since you are most decidedly out of the country."
This seriously isn't a quote from "the Champ", is it?
It is! I haven't seen this for several years now, but just thinking about it , how Ricky Schroder is that little boy pleading over the body of The Champ to wake up is getting me choked up.

Hello, Mr.Wolf, I'd like you to meet my wife Mrs. Human. She's loves those movies.
RottieGrrrl
But you are right, perhaps this should be a movie mashup clue. but I would get this movie from one line, lol.
WordWolf
It is "CLUE." Technically, you posted that, so, your turn.
(In the board game, the object is to determine who performed the murder,
where, and with what possible weapon. In the movie, that came up
as well-along with other things from the game.)

Well. That really narrows it down. There's only about a dozen of those movies or so.

Rommel, you magnificent bastard! I read your book!
Sounds like "Patton" quotes, which means they're probably from the
movie of the same name.
