It may have seemed like they were making fun of it at first because of the way the narrator used contemporary colloquial language. But I get the feeling it was done to make it seem more current and accessible.
Beyond creation though, the main point of the skit was how each of us makes a part of the picture, but God organizes things into the whole, unified work. This is a good illustration of how the Body of Christ is supposed to work. We each have our part to do, and collectively we communicate Jesus to the world.

Interesting...
I thought they were showing it in a skit - no where did I see them making fun of it
They showed it then the people worship at the end, going from created to worshiping the creator
