waterbuffalo
Hi, has anyone ever heard of this scenario with google/amazon.com? I first asked Amazon.com to remove a book review that I did in 2001 or thereabouts. They did. Then, I asked Google to remove the dead link. They have refused everytime. One of their reasons is: To remove this information from our search results and from the web, you'll need to contact the webmaster of this third-party site. Once the webmaster makes the change, you can submit a request to remove the cached copy or simply wait for our search results to reflect this change the next time we crawl the page. So, I've contacted the third party webmaster (Amazon.com) and they've removed my review. They claim that's all they can do. It's been a year or longer and Google still denies every request I submit to remove the dead link. Oddly enough, when I google my name in quotes, there are 8 or 9 links that go to the same dead page. Here's the link that I use to make the request: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/rem...ls?urlremoval=0 Does anyone know how to get these dead links off of the net? It's been pretty frustrating dealing with Google thus far. Edited July 7, 2008 by waterbuffalo
