I mean, they really tipped their hand when they got to the "perpetual motion" part at the end.
Maybe they could install a compressed-air motor to compress the air to run the motor that compresses the air for the tank that powers the engine that runs the car?
It seems there is some work on the compressed air car ... but they are half as efficient as the electric car ... and there are problems ... and the one I saw could only go 30 miles.
Of course the perpetual motion thing revealed this as a goof ...

To use air compression to run a car, you need to compress the air first.
That's where the kinetic energy in the system comes from.
That means you put the energy in the system in the first place.
That works as well as rechargeable cars, and THOSE aren't the solution EITHER.

I only brought it up because at the very least the threat of using this kind of power would scare the bajebees out of the oil companies.
I'll bet you would see gas at half the price it is now.
(There is enough oil for the world to last for 200 years.)
The oil companies are only raising prices based on future consumption.

And lest it fades from memory, the steam car was once more popular than the gas powered models.
(Henry Ford put an end to that.)

ps--I had a great-uncle who worked for White Motors.
