This should come as no surprise to anyone. Americans have a preoccupation with fast moving styles, instant gratification and a diminished understanding of committment. We have become consumers with minute rice minds. If you don't like something, move on to the next thing...
...Multi million dollar mega churches have become a breeding ground for style over substance and religiosity instead of spirituality...
...Is it any wonder that people change religions as easily as they would supersize their next lunch?
"I'll have an order of Super-Dooper Quarter Pounder Meat-of-the-Word Sandwich, a Holy Roller Salad with Heavenly Hash dressing, a side order of Freedom Fries, ... and a Water-to-Wine Cooler to go."
I think it's more a testimony to the impotence of any religion. You're raised with it, become familiar with it, and realize that it really doesn't deliver on it's sales pitch - not so you'd notice anyway. Eventually your attachment to it diminishes and you're open to something new. Isn't that how we got involved with WayWorld? (I mean, besides the cute young girls paying us so much attention)
