Depends on what type of "electronic document" you are wanting to be "electronically" stamped.
Is The Type being:
Microsoft Office document (Word or Excel, version needing stamped)
Adobe PDF
A scanned TIF or JPG document
Autocad or other Cad drawing document
Any program that would "stamp" another document has to be able to read/write the document type, and most any program would not be able to read/write just any and all, so it depends on what you are needing stamped.
Thank you BHF- I have saved the links so I can give them to my manager who is flying in 2 wks...this may be the ticket for me to work in my home office down the road..yehaw!
T&O- true, Im sure they will look to see if it is compatible with the type of doc's I will be working on. I start training soon and will know more..they have a huge IT dept, im sure someone will look at it too. thank you for bringing that up.

I don't know of a program or tool that will stamp a electronic doc in RED that it is Recieved.
I did a quick Google search and didn't see anything that looks like what you're asking for.
I do know of a program that will let you see when e-mail you've sent has been opened.

You might try these guys:
Bates Stamp Software:
http://www.bates-stamp.com
You can even download a demo:

You could purchase a document management system; however, the good ones tend to be pretty pricey.
