I knew a guy who had married a corspe woman who was divorced with two kids... and they wanted childrten together.. I think he was treated well because her blood family was clergy and they followed them from state to state servicing them. kind of sad tho . i always thought he was a sucker to be honest.
Well in any case it was more like a R2 droid designation than a nametag. My model number was SPF-3 It did provide some amusing moments though people would stare at the tag and wonder what it meant, you could see the wheels turning. Once someone asked if I was in the Spanish Corps. Do I look like I live south of the border?
yes the man i was posting about was a second clss of some sort i remember that well.
he was trying to go to the corps and they did go through it again as family corp i do not know if the wife had to do it again I imagine. do they or do they just wait till their spouse was done with it?
It sucked, imo. All of the pressures and burdens but few of the perks or recognition. Felt kind of like a tolerated retarded sybling...but hey on the UP side...I was finally allowed in all of those super secret meetings for the spiritually mature :)
Yeah, I was always so afraid that my husband would be judged harshly for choosing me. I never wanted him to be ashamed for marrying non corpes, I never wanted to bring him down spiritually.
I didn`t either until my spouse proposed. I kept thinking someone was going to stop us...that some one would say that I was unworthy. I kept waiting for the wrath of God to descend upon me :(
It wasn`t until after the wedding that I started believing that it was going to be allowed.
The impression I've gotten is that some corps and/or higher-ups had a bigger problem with men
who were Spouse Corps, i.e., "If you were a REAL man, you've have gone Corps!"
Was this experienced, or is this just they way I've read the posts?
At least in one case, this wasn't true. (I think.)
John S0hmer married Janie Web$ter, who was 6th Corps. I don't think John ever went into the Corps himself, and I do remember him being "Spouse Corps." He was made Territory Leader in the Dallas area and was ordained.
It's possible that he went into the Corps between Illinois and Texas, so feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

John spent a year at Emporia (or maybe a little time at another locale) ... seems he was instructed in the fine art of floor buffing.
I believe he did ground breaking teaching on the subject of "probe every orifice", and discussed various male animals' sexual lengths, in one ambassador room teaching afterglow meeting (maybe). In hindsight it is not surprising jal or lcm, whoever it was, found that information relevant ... or maybe just entertaining.

Conversely, "IF you were a REAL woman, a Corps man would have married you in the Corps weddings!"

Before people freak out, I think I should point out that John has a Veterinarian degree...

Yes George, I guess that is pertinent, and why it was somewhat humorous they had him doing floors.
I think they are building a house in Costa Rica, so I guess he did OK in either vet work or floor buffing.
And yes, "probe every orifice" is also a vet' phrase, though you can apply it however you wish. :o
