A friend of mine, from pre-TWI days, heard this song when it first came out on the radio and decided he had to see MacArthur Park for himself. He stuck out his thumb in Cleveland. The very first ride took him all the way to L.A.
That's it Waysider! Very good! It's a good thing you got it on the first try because I can't understand any of the lyrics. Probably because it would not have been played on the air otherwise! Your turn Waysider.

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

Indeed you're correct! The artist is Richard Harris, I'm not sure who wrote it.

Jimmy Webb wrote it,though you don't need the writer or artist to participate in this thread.
Here is more about the song.
I think, in light of the story I related, it's probably only fair to relinquish my turn.

Personally, I think you could go ahead. But since I'm typing anyway, I'll do this one:

(Technically, in this thread you're supposed to use the FIRST line of the song, unless it contains the title.)
I've been cheated, been mistreated...

Sorry about the first line thing. I'll remember that from now on. This one is "When will I be Loved?" by Linda Ronstadt.
How about..."Uh-how how how how...Uh-hmm hmm hmm hmm".
