That said, I then looked up the lyrics, and lo and behold, Raf's previous post showed up. I've definitely heard the song MANY times, but either I just never listened to more than the chorus, or the first lines just didn't ring a bell without the melody.
Since I knew the song before googling, I'm taking the W.
This one may have been done recently, but
"Here she comes, just a-walkin' down the street..."
I actually had the line wrong. It was "My daddy was a cop on the EAST side of Chicago." Which is interesting, because the east side of Chicago is Lake Michigan.
New one (not the first line, which contains the title):
"I don't want to be your tiger, 'cause tigers play too rough.
I don't want to be your lion, 'cause lions ain't the kind you love enough"

I know Lord Badasss, demon hunter, is summoned whenever this song is played backwards.
When The Badger needed him summoned, they wondered what "the worst song in the universe" could be- but The Badger immediately claimed that Ham (the weather wizard) had it, and dug out his copy of "Red Sovine's Trucking Music." He began playing it backwards, saying it could only improve the song. Sure enough, a few lines into "RAEB YDDET", the demon hunter appeared and saved the day. Amazingly, back in ancient Babylon, they recited this exact same song to summon him!
Personally, I think this song deserves better than THAT. It's not one of the greatest, but it's a nice song.

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

OK. I know this from the chorus: "The Gambler."

I won't be able to sleep tonight if I don't figure this one out. I don't think that is the name George.

I know this. It starts off like 'In the Ghetto" and then it shifts gears taking it up quite a bit, but I need a few more words to chime in on it.

"My Daddy was a cop, on the south side of Chicago. Back in the USA. Back in the bad old days."
This was a "one-hit wonder." Part of the title is in the first line.

I don't think I'd consider the Temptations a one-hit wonder...
I'll give Human (and Raf?) a bit more time.

Perhaps I might have come up with the word Chicago in the title but probably not the whole title. I know I thought it might be a song by ~Chicago~
New song: not too familiar with it.
