I apologize for not knowing the rules, George. Is there anything else I need to know to play? I didn't mean to step on any toes.
Oh well, I've posted a song (out of order-I'm sorry), and guessed one (hopefully correctly), so am I ok now?
You're fine. Usually, these "game" threads have the rules within the first few posts. Unlike "Name That Tune," which is supposed to be a bit challenging, the goal of this one is to post the first line from a song that everyone should recognize (but, obviously, not a song whose title is in the first line).
Feel free to try the "Name That..." threads, or the "...Pictionary" threads, too. Again the basic rule is that you don't get to post a puzzle until you corectly guess someone else's.

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

You're welcome to play, but that means guessing someone else's song before posting your own.

Tied To The Whipping Post----The Allman Brothers
From what I understand, they are supposed to be songs you can recognize from just one line.
I think they started out being the FIRST line, as long as the title wasn't revealed in that line.
So, really, the burden is on the poster, not the one who replies.
(Kind of "name that tune" in reverse.)
Did I get that right, bulwinkl?

Nope.
Traffic did have an album called John Barleycorn Must Die, though.
And there is a line in the song that says, "No parking by the sewer."
(Kind of a traffic- like reference.)
