after perusing Name that tune topic I started thinking of songs that we remember from the first line. title not in first line. since it's my topic I'll go first.
"There she was justa walking down the street"
And then a few posts later:
"You did fine George I was just thinking of songs that were so memorable that they would be easy from the first line only but not too easy that the first line conatins the title."
(Emphases mine.) I would say that the intent of these is to use the first line when it doesn't contain the title.

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

I went back and read the initial post before I posed the question. He didn't actually specify that.

Really do we need to make it a rule. Is this the county jail and we're not suffering enough so just make some
more rules to make it tougher? My point: This thread has been going along fine for the past several months
and it's been fun to play, whether or not we are using the first line of a song. Don't start something now when
everything is just fine. It ain't broke, so let's not try to fix it.
So, how about that NBA lockout!

Jack, get back. C'mon before we crack.
Technically that's two lines, but they complete a stanza..sort of.

I feel like I should give this song up. Not one clue????????
Only trouble with that would be then, I would be waiting
on this thread for someone else to play.
