This must be a very strange song- and that's from someone who posts strange songs.
Sitting on a cornflake waiting for the van to come
Some of you are not paying attention. I probably wouldn't care if it hadn't been a song from the greatest group of all time and for the fact that we all grew up listening to these songs.

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

About a decade too late. My song is from the mid 60's

I took it back when I knew it wasn't right.
But still, I have not a clue George.

Seems familiar. Just can't place it. (No melody in my head to go along with the words.)

Probably shoo-tent be in this thread but oh well
here goes anyway:
Oops, that's the wrong thread for this. Let's try:
She grew up in a Indiana town
Had a good looking Mama, never was around
But she grew up tall, and she grew up right
With them Indiana boys on an Indiana night

These are very peculiar lyrics.

If she grew up with those Indiana boys on those Indiana nights,
then this was probably Mary Jane, and the song's about her last dance.
(Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance.")
The music video is even creepier than Petty's usual videos.

and > They say'| " she's buying a stairway to heaven"
She must have been rich.
She didn't know what she was headed for
And when I found what she was headed for
Mama, it was too late

This isn't moving. Let me see. Not easy enough?
So....another song, more memorable by the
same artist
I said "You're what I've been dreaming of", she said "I don't want to know"
Sorry this late 60's to mid 70's group really didn't have too many one liners from their songs.
Two lines? Many....perhaps, next time I will move this to the tune thread.
Sorry. This is vague. So I'll just tell you the group, that might help.
The Guess Who.

I was, but I was trying to let someone else get a turn.
This was "I AM THE WALRUS" by the Fab Four (the Beatles.)
Now please go to the other song thread and bail me out.

His daughter turned out to be quite an actress, besides her being really good looking.
Her father is quite a singer. What-ta you think? The biggest mouth in the business.
