It is, in fact, "Silhouettes." I was a big fan of Heman's Hermits. and I thought this song was great. Interestingly, I never quite understood part of the song until I heard the Rays' version from 1957 on an oldies station. That's when I finally got the "You're on the wrong block" line!

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

I know that it is the Doors. And it seems that it was the last line of a song.

You got it. Great song considering it was done in 1965, ahead of it's time

Is it, "Why Did You Join that Cult you Idiot?" I believe the group was called Former Friends. Came out in the 70's I believe.

No, and it occurs to me that those words have probably been used in many songs. I'll give it another day or so.

It sounds like a song from the last Rolling Stones' album, can't think of the name of the song

When Paw is stumped it's time to give it up.
My post was the opening lines of the second verse of the Allman Brothers' "Whipping Post".
It was a bad clue.

"The Sounds of Silence" (Simon & Garfunkel)
This may be a bit more obscure, though it was a big hit for one of my favorite groups (and another group about a decade earlier):
Took a walk and passed your house...

Tip of the tongue.....
These groups/artists come to mind. John Denver, Seals and Croft, The Band, and Cat Stevens.
