Nope, I was dead serious (but wrong.) I thought (I was wrong) that it really was Bobby, but I just checked and it was Glen Campbell who I remembered singing that song.
I really loved John H's version better than the Glen Campbell song that I heard back when Gawd made dirt. (Well I found this old thing I'd never seen before called a re-re-rec-record...it was made of some kind of plastic and had these grooves... I hear they used to get music from these things with a needle :o )
This is one of those songs that sticks in my head for days. It didn't get me the first line, but that Commodore Hotel - that was when I recognized the song!
