I'm wondering if this one isn't too 'obscure'. I figured someone who was ingesting quantities of herbs in the 70's , as I know many old wayfers were, would know it.
Is this one too hard? i thought it was popular, but maybe it's just familiar to me because my husband is always singing it...
Here's the next line:
Where one man's nightmare is another man's dream
I'm going to answer this one and try something else...it's no fun if nobody gets it. Just 'cause my husband sings it doesn't mean anyone else does ~ sorry!

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

The only herbs I ingested in the 70's were various forms of lettuce. (And the occasional oregano on my spaghetti.)

Sorry it took so long to get back here.
You are 100% correct, Mister Strange, that is, indeed, Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bobby Zimmerman
