cman
(one of the many poems in the book) Schoolhouse Doors The schoolhouse doors are wide open, And knowledge only seems to hide. The world's an open book, you see. Its truth will not be long denied. At least, it's been that way for me. My eyes were closed; I could not see. 'Though shadows kept my thoughts at bay, Truth trickled in by slow degree, Dispelling doubts like dawning day, And causing me to see the way That all of life is one long chain, And, order's guise is disarray. What we dismiss as so mundane Are thoughts we need to entertain. Allowing them to self-explain Reaps understanding for our gain. Reaps understanding for our gain. Reprinted with permission from the author, Marilyn L. Perkins She will be starting a website soon with discussions of these poems and more, and the different play on words as well as more that is within the writings. She would love to discuss and help with some of the deeper poems. And is certainly open to input. If anyone is interested I'll keep this thread updated with the info. She already has another book in mind to do and is a great person to speak with.

Schoolhouse Doors
The schoolhouse doors are wide open,
And knowledge only seems to hide.
The world's an open book, you see.
Its truth will not be long denied.
At least, it's been that way for me.
My eyes were closed; I could not see.
'Though shadows kept my thoughts at bay,
Truth trickled in by slow degree,
Dispelling doubts like dawning day,
And causing me to see the way
That all of life is one long chain,
And, order's guise is disarray.
What we dismiss as so mundane
Are thoughts we need to entertain.
Allowing them to self-explain
Reaps understanding for our gain.
Reaps understanding for our gain.
