I hope I get this right from you tube. My suster sent this and it has made me cry every time i see it!
#71 Whatever that bug is flying in my view finder, it reminds me of a rodent! Your film from you “suster” is a little too bazaar for my simple brain, plus I don’t think the gun was loaded or the show would have turned out differently!
Maybe, the way should have had more of them around during productions?

When I think of all the money and hype in producing Atheletes of the Spirit, I am awed at how much better this production was. Simple to the point....God's votin' fer ya, Devil's votin' agin ya...you determine the election.
Thank you, 70'sHouston, Dooj and Rainbow I appreciate your responses! I REALLY liked it too. I didn't expect anyone else to post here, because of my 3 requests to delete it.
I was not expecting a response like the first one here. I shared it because to me it was a pearl--and to have it trampled like that was discouraging.
I'm not gonna un-request my request to delete--I'm sure Paw and the other mods don't have time for that. I also know I shoulda just slept on it before reacting like I did. I'm reminded one bad apple. . . and for the most part, most GS-ers are nice folks! And that's why I DO come here
One thing I've learned here is that some folks just say stuff because they can. Good, bad, funny, whatever - they stir the pot and throw words around just to get a reaction.

Bumpy, that's a tad bit rude, don't ya think?
Psalm that was a very thought provoking piece! I have a niece who did a number similar to the one you shared. I admire people who put their hearts into such productions to bless others. I was especially touched when the audience began to clap and cheer when the girl was delivered. I don't think any of us would deliberately set out to live a life depicted in this production -- but sometimes it's so easy to get drawn away.
It IS powerful, isn't it? Larry, me too--when the audience started to clap, that's when I really started bawling! The Lord is pulling for her the whole time, too, but he can't step in til she falls to her knees--seemingly, crying out to him. (When I am weak, then I am strong)
Rascal-- I'm glad I didn't delete it, too, and that Paw didn't delete it too--can't let the pearl-tramplers ruin a good thing, huh?
Our youth group at our parent church did a skit very similar to this on a foreign outreach mission. Because no one there spoke English, they had placards around their necks with the word for a temptation (drugs, alcohol, sexual improprietry, etc) around their neck. It was somewhat different in that the girl did not know the Lord before she began to be tempted by these things, which seemed exciting at first, then as in this dance-skit, beat the heck out of her. When the actor portraying Jesus stepped up, they all fell to the ground. Their audiences loved it.
Thanks for posting the link. Ignore smart-donkey remarks.
I sent the link to lots of folks. Had an email exchange with a dear friend about it.
They first said:
You know what, Dan, that was very powerful, but very wrong. Our God would have blasted everyone of those "influences" when she looked over at Him and lifted her hand in His direction. Our Lord will run to us at our cry for help. The crap would be making noise and maybe reaching out to her, but they would not have kept her from God nor left Him looking helpless against their influence in her life. He would have sent someone or sent an angel. That's our God.
to which I replied:
I saw the vid as the first guy representing the Lord, not God. He symbolically points her to God early on.
Sure, some theological points might be missing (he didn't actually die protecting her, etc.) but in a sketch, like a parable, there is a meaning to convey, and other things are not necessarily "true" -- i.e. Lazaruz in the bosom of Abraham, and the guy in torment asking him to send someone back from the dead to warn his family...
The Lord is our "first love" that we are not to neglect...
Rev 2:4
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
I saw it as a very effective means of portraying how we can get distracted and pressured and influenced to forget our "first love." It portrays a young lady running back to him, not being able to make it by her own power, but "succeeding" nevertheless, by grace and sacrifice. I haven't been able to watch it without crying yet, and I've viewed it maybe 6 times!
and they wrote back:
I have to admit, I got irritated with the portrayal of a helpless Lord standing on the side doing nothing while she struggled and had to turn it off. I watched the rest of it and I like the way it went after I turned it off! Should have watched it all to begin with! Typical me!
Thank you for posting that Psalm 71 one. Nothing can stop the Love of God given through His Son Jesus Christ and this video is a great story of that. How much in common the video has with Psalm 71verse1 as well! And to my life...and my teenage daughter's who I pray earnestly for.
Thanks for a great reminder to look to Him, the Author and Finisher of my faith.
If it touches one heart for God it was worth posting. It seems to have touched quite a few. I will be sharing it with others also. YEA GOD!! :eusa_clap:

Hey Psalmie,

Psalmie --- THAT ---WAS --- POWERFUL!!!!
:eusa_clap:
The 5 minutes and 54 seconds it lasted put twi and aos to shame.
I don't relate to *dance* productions (they're usually way over my head),
but this one had the *message* right there, right away, and it made sense.
Thank you. Performing arts CAN teach the Word and life's struggles. :)
