Newsweek

Aug. 20-27, 2007 issue -

In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission. According to a statement issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, the law, which goes into effect next month and strictly stipulates the procedures by which one is to reincarnate, is "an important move to institutionalize management of reincarnation."

I think I am in total agreement.

I think govt needs to control reincarnation.

Absolutely. Cant have a bunch of undocumented reincarnates running around.

Resurrection, too.

There should be

paperwork, lots of paperwork before passing through the gates of death.

Paid for in advance, like social security

or medicare that is taken out of our paychecks.

New Life taxes.

And signage directing the traffic into the appropriate ethereal realms

too. It would make

death so much more manageable. I'm all for it.

Come to think of it I may go to China just to get my reincarnation license,

or if TL is gonna sell blackmarket permits I'll get that as long as its passable, looks legit and wont get me back as a sea slug or a brussel sprout
