Doctrines

Recommended Posts

Reading visions and trying to express some sense out of the people's grief and strife.

When it all still comes down to the mind and what we decide.

Do we listen to what we say or do we listen to reason?

What is reason? Must reason also be reasonable? Within reason rather than outside reason?

But we reason and make doctrines and these doctrine become our motivation.

Only the vision of the mind can free the self from it's own tyranny.

So if a doctrine does not lead one to the mind and "change" then they are not facing the problem but being played by the problem.

The flesh will ultimately pay the price for not living within reason.

So people make doctrines and do not realize that change is simply to REVERSE THEM...

These doctrines are subtle doctrines like I can't run or I can't eat. I can't care for myself.

People make these doctrines and they repeat them over and over to themselves.

Not if you are old or have a physical impediment that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about doctrines that we do not even sometimes realize they are part of our thought processes.

Doctrines that defeat.

If we place the opposite thought in the mind (this takes an aggressive action) then we will immediately "FEEL" differently.

Say the opposite and you will feel the opposite way.

But we get stuck in a circular spiral downward into a rut that is a trick of the mind.

A trick so subtle that our control is decided by our own nature rather than reason.

Our nature can be fifty fifty but reason is always true.

Where we should not identify ourselves with what we feel randomly but rather what we intentionally place in our minds consciously to feel.

I am not a very strong person,

I am not very good at gymnastics,

I suck at poker.

:eusa_clap:

How do you explain to people that their doctrines are why they are in such turmoil?

How do you teach them to reverse their thoughts?

To change their negative thinking patterns?

For some people it comes down to either change or die.

I'm very picky...

Where do all of these "doctrines" lead?

Where is the risk?

I am a poor swimmer,

I am afraid of heights,

I don't look good in blue

I hate math

Defeat is a simple slip of the tongue and the mind becomes a slave to words.

I don't know about vision of the mind.. but visualision of the light.. perhaps that is what may free the self from self.

Yes, that was a weak statement on my part and I am glad you clarified it.

The question is "how" do we guide people into this doctrine of light? How do we give them the keys to discernment?

Very well said!

Thank you Abigail as always you are very comforting and soothing in your replies, like spring sunshine on a rainy day. :)

The only "doctrine" is change from a negative situation is to reverse the thinking pattern.

People want to change but they don't know how.

The best start is by changing their own outlook of themselves and looking to the perfect spirit inside and rejecting the old man/woman outer person that the world has created.

DWW...your curiousity is quite sparkly to me

im guessing you might find some answers googling around things like "ego development" and "adult ego development" and such

though its not typically thought of in biblical spiritual doctrinal contexts (i my self cant seperate them so easily)

seems the quintessential "ego trip" is a sort of long and windy road of many steps we must all must traverse in life as we head from birth to death

and so compasses and maps and geographying skills and such come in handy ... which is why we look for people like that...

such as why many were drawn to VPs PFAL holy spirit charts and such...and found elements of meaning

we naturally reach for meaning-making when reason has failed us

deeper introspection as we age...a period of deconstructing our own ego

finding deeper, wider layers of subjectivity...and intersubjectivity

as well as deeper, wider layers of objectivity ... and interobjectivity

this is the beginnings of a more deeply contemplative stance that helps carry us into being of wise old age...or wise old sage...whatever the time, race or tradition

and well...i know there are strong anti-ego feelings among us here at times...

its common in our post-modern culture ... egos running around hypocritically pretending like we have killed our selves

...which is perhaps amplified as many many of us enter into the same natural deconstructive stages of life together

in a way...we are in a sort of double whammy of transformation until we make it through to the other side

...perhaps even rescue the use and meaning of the ego in unexpected ways

i would go as far as to say that that many of our most revered and remembered saints and saviors of history demonstrated those very kinds of things

here is an interesting example of an eastern epistemology

here is a quote from Jain Epistemology

Since reality is multi-faceted, none of the pramanas gives absolute or perfect knowledge. Consequently, all knowledge is only tentative and provisional. This is expressed in Jain philosophy in the doctrine of naya, or partial predication (also known as the doctrine of perspectives or viewpoints). This insight generates a sevenfold classification of predications, which can be schematized as follows:

Perhaps a is F.

Perhaps a is not-F.

Perhaps a is both F and not-F.

Perhaps a is indescribable.

Perhaps a is indescribable and F.

Perhaps a is indescribable and not-F.

Perhaps a is indescribable, and both F and not-F.

'Perhaps' here is used as a translation of syat which can also be translated as ‘from a perspective,’ or ‘somehow.’

imagine applying that to one's 'sense of self'

Well said...yeah..get comfy with a stand and loose your sight

get bored, perhaps even suicidal

some say what's wrong with where i'm at

i say nothing

everyone is somewhere

we are closer together when it's seen

take off the facade and quit playing God and let God be as it becomes you

selflessly, with reason beyond words of reason

so why should i look for more?

cause it's coming, like it or not

can be hell or heaven

eventually heaven thou hell plays a dynamic role

like the parable of the talents

or the one lost sheep

it's there, beautiful, springing forth joy and life

and pain and sorrow all at the same time

highway to the danger zone

everyone is on it

realized or not

forgiveness is inescapable

so is love

good to hear from ya todd

as always, feel free to write parts of the book in your heart

as DWW does as Abigail does

it's within us all

and such is the trust Abigail

that opening the heart does not mean explaining it

but letting it rip with the hearers in mind

those that don't won't but will
