Beach Boy;s always remind me of Fun In The Sun....Volley Ball games at the beach..family picnics, riding in my uncles corvet...yesterday, I drove from Kiittery Maine to Gloucester,NH and enjoyed the most beautiful seacapes I have ever beheld...and I listened to the Oldies music channel..this one brought tears..it was sung with such passion..Righteous Brother's- Unchained Melody..what is some of your favorite music of old? Can someone embed this please:)

I subscribe to XM.(Have for 2 or 3 years.)

They have "decades" channels that feature music from the various decades.

Channel 4=40's/Channel 5=50's/Channel 6=60's,etc.,etc.

If you don't want to invest in a tuner, you can subscribe to it as a stand-alone and stream it on your computer.

That's what we do in our office area. I have a separate tuner in the shop area.

They will even let you take a free trial run to see if you like it.

I hate to sound like an advertisement but if you enjoy music from a particular era or genre, this might be for you.

Downside: The on-line stream is slightly out of sync with the regular(tuner) broadcast so you can't combine them to produce a surround sound.

My fav of all time

In the cool of the evening

when ev'rything is gettin' kind of groovy,

I call you up and ask you if you want to go

and meet and see a movie.

First you say no, you've got some plans for the night,

And then you stop, and say, "All right."

Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you.

You always keep me guessin', I never seem to know

what you are thinkin'.

And if a fella looks at you, it's for sure

your little eye will be a-winkin'.

I get confused, 'cause I don't know where I stand,

And then you smile, and hold my hand.

Love is kinda crazy

with a spooky little girl like you. Spooky!

If you decide someday to stop this little game

that you are playin', I'm gonna tell you all what my heart's been a-dyin' to be sayin'.

Just like a ghost,

you've been a-hauntin' my dreams,

So I'll propose... on Halloween.

Love is kinda crazy

with a spooky little girl like you.

Spooky, Spooky, Spooky, Oh-whoa, all right,

I said Spooky!

Summer Rain by Johnny Rivers

I forgot how to post the link...

I found it on You Tube but the embedding has been disabled.

Sorry.

It's a very nice montage with the song as the background.

Worth the trip to YT in my opinion.

Dooj et al,

Our tiny town had a 4th of July festival the weekend before the 4th and the features guests were The Drifters! It was free, outdoors under the evening sky, and we went. They sang all those songs and more! Some of them, at least, were the original guys. The sound was the same. I just sat there and grinned like a fool, with tears in my eyes.

To my ancient mind, there is something charming and innocent about summer music, the Beach Boys, the Drifters, Jan and Dean, and so on. I wish my grandson could grow up in such a summer.

Ex, my Rod summer song would be Mandolin Wind

Hot Summer Day by It's a Beautiful Day is another great song.

Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft is another favorite

And we can't forget Woodstock (I like the Joni Mitchell version)

Tangled up in Blue by Dylan is another fave.
